Seriously- interesting development. Congratulations to our French Freeper Friends- assuming we haven't chased them all out of here with taunts and insults already.

I wonder if there will be a meeting soon between President Sarkozy & President Bush. Sarko and France could be helpful in the Middle East. I suspect Sarko and France would like to do something to improve relations now that Chiraq is gone, and GWB certainly could use the help. Not that France would send troops to Iraq, of course, but there are other ways they could be helpful.

I'd bet a shiny nickel that he's thinking about it.

You did not, Riley, but let us just say other members did their best to achieve just that result.

My son would have been named Sabine if he’d been born 2 years ago as my daughter because of her and because I liked the name. I found out about her here at FR years ago.

SARKOZY 54.5% - ROYAL 45.5% :

Most excellent news. Thank you Cincinna for all of your time and effort keeping us uncouth red staters up to speed.

Although I detest Chirac and the French intelligentsia, I sincerely like the French people I have met in my travels. Even Parisians are no ruder than the average New Yorker. I wish Sarkozy and greater France the best.

Well, I'm glad that you stuck it out and stayed. As a native Californian of many generations- I have a small idea what that is like.

It was neat to hear the people singing “Les Marseilles”.
And nice to see someone in charge who LIKES the US.
