Who's next? Well this good news needs to be LOUDLY PROCLAIMED across the Internet, across the world ----- so that our own sheeple HEAR the word that Socialism is LOSING all around the world and America is WINNING Friends all around the world for standing FOR capitalism and freedom and not against it!

By the way - this is a total refutation to all the Dem and media hackers who keep claiming that America has no standing in the world because of George W. Bush! WHAT HOOEY!

And well, we both like to generalize about each other's nation. The French (or the Germans, or the Spaniards, or the Italians) are all supposed to be this, and the Americans are all supposed to be that.

Read the comments posted by the Freepers who actually went to France, on this very thread : the people they met were, well, normal people. Welcoming people, who treated their guests well and expected to be returned the favor, who loved to talk politics and grumble about taxes or their government, who enjoyed the company of somebody who has lived abroad and yet shared their core values.

All the Frenchmen I know spent some time in the US told the same : they had met, not stereotypical Americans, but nice, congenial people, and enjoyed their company greatly, whether they sought to live in the US or to come back to France.

I hope all the Freepers who, for the last 4 years or so, made a point of making insulting jokes at every opportunity (including some really tasteless ones) or engaged into similar kinds of slur will reflect upon these personal experiences by fellow members. The people they mocked, insulted and ridiculed are the ones who would have welcomed them the way other members were welcomed. and the same goes for my countrymen who engaged in similar behavior.

In the end, who did the most to further the cause of Conservatism and Western civilization ? Those who divided us through slur and insults, or those who brought us together through simple things like respect and personal contact ? I guess we all know the answer to that one.

Ah yes, the Grey Goose. I must admit that I had the final shot from the freezer of a bottle untouched in months.

But now I don’t have to tell the owner of the liquor store to be quiet when i buy it.

I’d like to think I was just ahead of my time.

Well said. As a native québécois in the united states, i’ve always been frustrated with the generalizations towards my french cousins on FR. thanks for sharing, good post. ;)

I disagree. Bill wanted to be President to wield the power and the glory. I don’t think he had the same agenda as Hillary did/does today.

Why drink any wine other than Californian wine, the best in the world?

There are a few California wines that aren't bad. Oregon has a couple of good ones. Australia also has some decent wines.

The Mosel-Saar-Ruwr region of Germany has the best.

Funny how we were told (well by the leftist) the countries like Germany, Canada, and now France hate us so much. However, all three countries have now elected Pro American leaders vs. the anti American leaders. I wonder how the leftist are going to explain this. Perhaps they will say these elections were stolen by Bush and co. LOL!

We were in France last summer, and I found the French people to be MUCH more American-friendly and conservative than I had been led to believe. It was pretty astonishing (and delightful) how much affection they held for Americans. The media lies all over the world, I guess.

That is the message I got in the countryside and in other places.

Paris is another matter...

Thank you for your excellent observation.

All of us who have spent time in France and know French people, well know they are decent, hardworking, gracious, hospitable people.

So many French people, especially young people, have visited the US and bring home memories of a great time, and friendly, wonderful Americans.

If we believe what the MSM tells us, we would accept that all are Americans are like the ones they stereotype, and all the French hate America, hate American culture , and all the other ugly things I read. Mostly, I might add, written by people who have never set foot in France, and have never shaken the hand of a French man , woman or child.

IMHO, The Arkansas Grifters both have the same agenda : the accumulation of personal power and wealth.

The french are the french, and we Brits don’t like or trust them either way....although we like to holiday in the south...But that’s it!

I think we Brits we need to look at the state of our own nation or what's left of it and start acting accordingly rather than running down our neighbour especially when they've made a momentous decision to turn their country around and out of the dulldrums.

Since when did we last achieve an election turnout of 85%? That's something to be proud of, I never thought I'd speak so fondly of France but today they deserve it and we should congratulate them.
