In short, what this means is.....there will be a few Republicans joining the Democrats in hell. Like the man said...moderate Republicans are really only Democrats.

Tom Bernstein went to Yale University with Bush and co-owned the Texas Rangers baseball team with him. In 2004 he donated the maximum $2,000 to the president’s reelection campaign and gave $50,000 to the Republican National Committee.

LOL...LOOKS LIKE he gave $$ to a friend and a man he worked with...but his HEART his with Democrat operatives.

Nice job, So Cal. You did more research in 30 seconds than the "journalist" for the article did in an entire day.

Are you sure you spelled that right? Was it really “2 Republicans Defect to the Obama Camp” or was it meant to be “2 Republicans Defecate at the Obama Camp”?

I’ve got to clean my glasses.

Sorry, but Paul is a loser. I met him when he came into Congress years ago, and he was normal. Over the years, he has shifted into strangeness land, politically, and his votes show it. He is an isolationist par excellance, far more than the nutty Jim Leach and is trying to match nutcase Kucinich for being on the far-fringe of political life.

He is not dependable in a crunch, and we are in crunch-time.

Wow, you signed up today to tell us that Ron Paul is gaining “amazing support.” Ok....just because YOU said so, I believe it. Yep, sure I do.

"bring the country together as a whole,”

And Osama O'bama will do this exactly how?

He'll talk purty, just like that wonderful uniter, Bill Clinton, used to do.

Don't you feel the kumbaya fuzzy warmth already?

Romney is looking better and better to me. Hope he keeps up the good work and that by next year you can make your way to the polls.

I don’t believe Dowd said anything like this. What a total crock.

only RATS followed the Piper You forgot the children followed the Pied Piper next ...

after their parents failed to pay the Piper.

There's a moral in there somewhere.

JFK was a neocon? Or a neocon hero?

I am not saying the JFK was a neocon, but he was pretty conservative compared to the group we have now. Although the parties did not have to deal with issues such as abortion and gay marriage in those days. I think national defense and equal rights were probably the hot button issues of the time.

This Tom Bernstein has given mostly to Dems in the past:

He has given "most frequently" to RATS. But since over 70% of what he has given on your list was to the GOP, he has given the most amount to Pubbies. Don't write the opposite of the facts you actually post please.

I've run across plenty of socially conservative political opportunists who'll let the end justify the means.

I've never seen a social conservative on FR or anywhere else who said they would provide support to Hillary or Obama. Can you provide a link to someone who has said such a thing? I doubt it.

Social conservatives might choose to vote for a third party candidate rather than vote for, say, Rudy, but they wouldn't actively support Obama, or any other person in the party of death.

I was suggesting that Bush’s campaign director always was pretty liberal.

Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

I say again, the distinction is not REPUBLICAN/DEMOCRAP, it is CONSERVATIVE/LIBERAL!

Liberalism is a CANCER on civilization!

I've had plenty of them tell me with regards to federal legislation that Constitutional "original intent" is irrelevant if it advances a socially conservative agenda.

I doubt you'd find any on FR. As far as there not being any, would you consider Rick Warren a "social conservative"?
