Fast Facts

Officials said this is more of a "homegrown" plot with no ties to al Qaeda or any other international terrorist organization, CBS News reports.

(CBS/AP) Six nationals of the former Yugoslavia were arrested early Tuesday on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army base and "kill as many soldiers as possible," federal authorities said.

The six were scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Camden later Tuesday to face charges of conspiracy to kill U.S. servicemen, said Michael Drewniak, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Jersey. Five of them lived in Cherry Hill, he said.

Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka, Shain Duka

These are the ethnic Albanian names and all they appear to be brothers/cousins

Agron Abdullahu

The first name looks Albanian, but the last name like some other - Turkish?

They use the name of the extinguished country to identify the origin of the perpetrators to avoid straight out saying they are (likely) Kosovo Albanians.

Kosovo Albanians did attack Serb soldiers all the time that is what they were trained and supported to do by the U.S. military. I guess this is the Muslim-style thanks. Thank you and now we will demonstrate what we have learned - what you have taught us - as we aim for bolder, stronger, more ultimate targets. The Serbs were such small fry, compared to the U.S., plus they have become, thanks to U.S. and NATO's help and occupation, like shooting fish in a barrel. They are, to sum up, so boring to kill nowadays and we need to stretch our military terrorist muscle. Yeeehaaa!...I mean: Jiiiiihhhhaad!

Point of order.

They aren’t traitors. A traitor is, by definition, a citizen of the country they are betraying.

I lived there from 1999 to 2004. The media lied from our invasion in Bosnia to Kosovo. Americans never got the real story, and they continue to lie to the American people about the attrocities committed there. The media, no kidding is controlled by the CFR agenda.....they WILL NOT tell the American public the actual truth. We support the Albanian KLA, renamed TMK/KPC. We supported both overtly and covertly the ongoing, low level method of ethnic Cleansing of innocent Serbs since 1999.

"How can CBS get away with this? There IS NO YUGOSLAVIA anymore. So why bury the lead with a non-existent country?"

Thank you, Frank! I said the same thing on the CBS website.

The fact is that CBS wants uninformed people to walk away saying to themselves after reading it, "Those damn Serbs are at it again!". But every Serb knows the truth -- those terrorists all have ALBANIAN names.

We bombed the Serbs for 78 straight days to "protect" these jerks. Right now, we are trying to rip off a piece of Serbia for them and are risking a showdown with Russia & China in the UN Security Council to give Kosovo Albanians their own "country". What for? So they can use it to plan more attacks on the US? U.S. On The Wrong Side In Kosovo

If you notice, they are not citizens. They are all from the Balkans, mostly ethnic Albanians, though only recent converts to Islam. I think that let’s them off the hook for being a traitor. So, what are they? Is this only a criminal offense? How ‘bout if we declare all terrorism, a hate crime?

Oh, I forgot, you can’t have a hate crime against whites.

Thought you’d be interested in these stories...

At least 3 in the country illegally, one from Turkey, one from Jordan, all connected in some fashion with the Balkans...I don’t believe any were converts. It appears this was more organized and connected to terror groups than we have been led to believe by initial reports.

(New Jersey) Report: Fort Dix Terror Plot Foiled - six ethnic Albanians
were arrested in an alleged terror plot against Fort Dix, the Army and
National Guard training center in New Jersey, including Fort Monmouth -
Three of the six were brothers and members of an Islamic radical group

Most of these Albanians are reported to be in this country illegally, who's to say they weren't also in the "former Yugoslavia" illegally?

Most of these Albanians are reported to be in this country illegally

Has anyone reported on how they entered yet?

Just heard on ABC they were "homegrown" terrorist?

With at least half in this country illegally, how do they figure this is "home grown"?

This seems a little confusing.

Because Albanians fight for American values... at least that’s what Lieberman, Lantos and Biden would like you to believe. We wouldn’t want to tarnish that image now would we....

Yugoslavia has not existed for a while now. They cannot be “ethnic Yugoslavians”. They are ethnic Albanians, muslims who took advantage of the faux “ethnic cleansing” to gain subsidized entrance to the U.S. Albanians have become a resident criminal class in many European countries in recent years including Italy and Greece. This is clinton’s version of Carter’s Mariel Boat fiasco.

The tentacles of international muslim terror have no ethnicity——they are part of the ummah——

They have infiltrated into the US and most of the west for years and the main thrust of that penetration was during the Clintonista regime.

I hate to say it——We ain’t seen nothing yet.

A hunered bucks says these guys are tied to Kosovo. Has any of the Western news outlets used the word "Kosovo" yet?

I've seen 'em refered to as "Yugoslav Nationals". I thought they've been extinct for fifteen years already.

Another video showed ``images of Osama bin Laden and other Islamic extremists making various speeches in which the speakers call the viewer to join the jihadist movement,’’ court papers said.

`Armed Attacks’

Besides Shnewer, the complaint identifies the suspects as Serdar Tatar, Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka, Shain Duka, and Agron Abdullahu. The alleged conspirators believed that Abdullahu was a sniper in Kosovo and that CW-1 had experience in the Egyptian military, the complaint said.

Shnewer showed the other informant, CW-2, ``a number of videos’’ on his laptop that ``depicted armed attacks on and the killing of United States military personnel,’’ the complaint said.

At meetings with CW-1 in early August, Shnewer said that he, Tatar and the three Dukas were part of a group planning to attack a U.S. military base, specifically Fort Dix, and a nearby naval base, the complaint said.

Schnewer said six or seven jihadists could kill at least 100 soldiers by using rocket-propelled grenades or other weapons, and that they could train in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, according to court papers.

`Not Afraid to Die’

``Shnewer also said that he and others in the group had saved money to pay for the weapons and that they were not afraid to die,’’ the complaint said.

A few days later, CW-2 asked Shnewer ``what made him think of Fort Dix as a target,’’ the complaint said. Shnewer replied: ``My intent is to hit a heavy concentration of soldiers.’’

In mid-August 2006, Shnewer and CW-1 scouted the Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey and the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the complaint said.

The informants recorded many conversations with the Dukas as they discussed plans to buy rocket-powered grenades and machine guns, the complaint said. Tatar told CW-1 that he would get a map of Fort Dix from his father’s pizzeria near the facility.

The Duka brothers rented a house in Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania, and traveled there in early February with Abdullahu to practice firing the weapons, the complaint said.

`Kill American Soldiers’

CW-2 met with Dritan and Shain Duka on March 10, when the informant asked about Tatar, the complaint said.

``Shain Duka explained that Tatar wanted to join the U.S. Army so that he could kill U.S. soldiers from the `inside,’’’ the complaint said. ``When CW-2 asked about Tatar again, Dritan Duka remarked, `He had only one mind, how to kill American soldiers.’’’

The Dukas later said that, ``rather than waging jihad overseas, they could do so in the United States,’’ the complaint said.

The case is USA v. Dritan Duka, 07-m-2046, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey (Camden).

Remember when Hoplite used to ask us to ping him if the Albanians temporarily in possession of Kosovo ever attacked any US troops?

Well, here we have a case of them attempting to do exactly that inside the US border and the pancake flipper is nowhere to be seen.

Glad you’re back, safe and sound, by the way!
