I would guess that Krum was named by Bulgarian immigrants who wanted to honor their great medieval ruler Krum (808-814), famed for his victories over the Byzantine Empire.

Perhaps the word Alley was replaced with the word ‘Street’.:-)

Yep, which is why a portion of West Windsor is named "Princeton Junction" and there is an office complex in West Trenton (itself in Ewing township) called "Princeton Manor."
The Princeton nonesense starts in South Brunswick and ends at the Delaware.

BTW: We always refer to ourselves as "Central New Jersey" around here. "South Jersey" is filled with Phillies fans, and is basically a Jeff Foxworthy/Larry the Cable guy routine with better Italian food. It truly is another world from Bordentown to Greenwich. ;-)

Which is very close to "Blue Ball." It also inspired one of my favorite bumper stickers of all time: "Virginia May be for Lovers, but Pennsylvania has Intercourse."
The area I lived in was once called Maidenhead, until the locals got sick of all the jokes and renamed the township after Admiral Lawrence.

NYC has both a Malcolm X Boulevard and a Marcus Garvey Park. Somehow, neither offend me as much as the statue of Lenin in Seattle.

Climax Mn. is just down the road from Fertile. Everyone in Mn has heard of the newspaper headline that read:
Fertile woman dies in Climax.

One would think there would be a mechanism for homeowners to have their street names changed, if a solid majority wanted to. I’m sure there is in every street-naming jurisdiction in the US.

That is not silly in the least. There is absolutely no way I would consider living in such a house. Even if it wasn’t an omen, whenever anything went wrong, you’d always wonder if it was because of “the number”.

In Licking Valley, OH, the Licking Valley HS mascot is the Panther... but they do play a game or two each year at Beaver Field.
