Words cannot convey how much I loathe this woman. She is evil incarnate. Yet people will fall for stuff like this because it is packaged as being ‘good for the children’. You see it happen everywhere- not just the poor or single mothers want this. When they come up with these all-day 4yo kindergarten programs even in affluent areas, parents glom right onto it, saying their kids need to be in these programs so they can be ‘competitive’ in tomorrow’s workplace! Yes, taking barely potty-trained 4 year olds away from their families 8 hours a day to supposedly ‘teach’ them will make them competitive 18 years from now. Unbelievable.

We live in an upper middle class area in GA, and my SIL has already fallen for this nonsense. Our state already provides voluntary free pre-k for 4 year olds, and she is on two waiting lists to get my 3 year old nephew (who will turn 4 on 8/31, but school will begin in early August) into the program, so he can get a head start on all the other toddlers. He will be there from 7-2 every day, instead of at home playing with his mom and his little brother, but wow, he’ll be SMART! Sigh.
