His “position” is irrelevant. He VOWED to uphold the laws of the country and he did everything he could to sabotage any enforcement.

....who has really worked to enforce immigration policy in the last 30 years? Carter? Yeah right. Reagan? Nope, he approved amnesty legislation written by The Swimmer. Bush Sr.? Nyet. Clinton? Um, not hardly. Dubya? He’s just following in a long line of POTUS’s that had done poorly when it comes to dealing with this issue.

If we are going to have any serious enforcement of our laws, we are going to have to elect people that will take the bull by the horns. Bush has never been strong on immigration law enforcement. He wasn’t as a governor in Texas, and he’s not now. When folks act outraged about Bush’s immigration views and actions (or lack thereof) I fail to understand why as he’s never been shy about what he hoped to do in that regard. Like it or not, the man does what he says he’s gonna do. I’m not any happier about it than you are, and the only way we are gonna checkmate him on this is via putting suffocating pressure on Congress - cause Bush isn’t going to chage his mind as long as he’s in office.

We do have an opportunity here though. Soon we’ll be nominating a new presidential candidate to represent the Reoublican Party in the 2008 presidential elections. The conservatives in the GOP must stand up....we must make the same push we made in the 1980’s and 1990’s to effect change through bringing conservative leadership to the presidency and the Congress. Clearly Paul, Rudy, and McLame are not up to that task...Romney, Hunter, and Newt or Fred Thompson(if they’ll get in the race) are credible conservatives that can bring forward our message and our vision of what we believe government should and should not be doing.

The Dims are VERY beatable....IF we stand up and debate them with the truth and providing a plan FOR a better America, not just how to grab power back. We need to do more of what Elzabeth did to Rosie recenty, stop playing nice and fair, and stand the heck up for what we believe is right!
