I’m 39, and I’m not moving around as fast as I used to- and when I saw the clip of her falling, the first thing that came into my mind was; “boy, she sure got up quick!”.

That’s just sad.
And oh yes, viva to all our mexican overlords

They are friendly as long as you bring “more American Dollars”.

There is some of that. But on several occasions I was shown hospitality by Mexicans, including offering me a food to eat or a beer to drink even though they received, and expected to receive nothing in return.

Many people would say hello instead of hola just to be friendly. This was in an area where very few spoke more than a few words in English.

We would stop and talk to people who were walking along the "road" and ask for directions, and we met quite a few friendly and helpful people. But these were mainly people in small towns and villages, for whom politics means little.

It may very well be different in large cities, though we did stop in some small cities to buy food and supplies and people were polite and helpful. They were perhaps a little less friendly, but that seems true of cities everywhere.

I get about the same amount of strange looks and distrust as I get as a Yankee traveling in some parts of the South, and treated considerably nicer than I was by most people when I visited Maine.

It was safer traveling in Maine, but the people were much more polite in Mexico.

You obviously don’t see from the Mexican perspective.

If somebody deliberately insults you, the fact is they did it. If you choose to ignore it, its your choice. Nations can’t ignore insults or there are consequences.

Okay...She didn't deserve to be in the top 5. She isn't that pretty, nor did she show well. Yeh, booing might be out of line, but they were booing her, not "America and everything it stands for". Earlier in the competition she was cheered - were they then cheering America? 5 bucks sys she got in the top 5 because Miss Universe is owned by an American corp. It isn't a "national insult" people, it's show biz. Good greif.

Well put. My tolerance level is at zero for these foreign lawbreakers. Law breakers they are now and lawbreakers they’ll remain after they’ve been given amnesty. In fact, being rewarded by our corrupt law makers for scofflaw behavior is a very bad precedent, just like giving misbehaving brats rewards for their behavior. How will they ever learn to behave as law abiding American citizens? They’ll just stay as lawless thugs, thus perpetuating Mexico’s cultural legacy.

Envy is an ugly thing, and Mexicans (on both sides of the border) possess it in spades.

What I have been saying for some time as a joke may now be true. First, Iraq. Second, Iran. Third, Mexico City. These SOBs. I want anyone who doesn’t want to embrace America, our language, and our culture to get their worthless butts out of my country.

From booing American sports teams to booing Miss U.S.A., to acting out in the Baltic States and Ukraine . . . .

Baltic? What the hell are you talking about?

You expressed my sentiments and those of most Americans very well.

Unfortunately, the Administration and the Elitist Senate hasn’t gotten it. They never will.

Hopefully the House, with its two year tenure people will be more recptive to popular will on this subject.

Increasingly the Senate is acting like a House of Lords. I think their terms should be reduced to two years also. Perhaps then they will be more responsive to us lesser folk and our opinions.

“to acting out in the Baltic States and Ukraine “

I was referring to the thugs of the world who have been emboldened by the pusillanimousity of the President and Congress.

In the above example I meant Putin and his threats towards the Baltic States and Ukraine. We made him blink a few years ago during the Orange Revolution. Now he realizes just how incompetent a fool Bush is and is acting AGAIN in Ukraine trying to reestablish Russian control there.

If he does, its BAD NEWS for the west and BAD NEWS for us.

We should make it quite clear to “Putie” that Russian intervention in Ukraine and the Baltic states and the rest of eastern Europe is unacceptable.

Had Jorge El Primero played his cards right and Bill Clinton played his cards right, and Jorge El Segundo played his cards right, we wouldn;t be facing the imminent problems “Putie” is creating now.
