The JFK files - A storied former prosecutor scrutinizes one of the most debated crimes in American history

The murder of President John F. Kennedy has provoked by far more suspicion, argument, obsession, and especially book-publishing than any similar event in American history. Now famed lawyer and true-crime writer Vincent Bugliosi has produced what he hopes will be the book to exceed all others. "Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy" may do that,

This article is a few days old but I haven’t seen anything else about Bugliosi’s book around here.

The bug’s an impressive guy all around. I’m sure the book makes a compelling case.

Bugliosi is always a great read.

That Gerry Spence “fantasy football” JFK trial was fun to watch, too. Still, it’s a bit sad that many make their very living on the back of 11/63.

Let him rest. Better yet, let Edward swap places with him.

That trial was what inspired him to do this book. He's been working on it since then. 21 years.

Bugliosi also supported the OJ jury in their finding. Sorry, he has lost all credibility.

He didn’t “support the OJ jury” - he ripped the skin off of the prosecutors’ incompetence.

[I assume you’re referring to “Outrage”.]

No, he didn't, quite the opposite.

Not sure where you got that impression. But Bugliosi pretty much blames everyone for letting OJ walk, including the racist jury.

Yep, that is the first thing that came to mind with the name Busliosi. I heard him shouting about it a few times on talk radio when it was released. What an Assclown.

Come on, Doug. Cut him a break.

If you were to publish all your songs in a printed tome, you’d do the talk radio circuit to push it.

I have read several of his books, including 'The Betrayal of America", he usually gets things right, but seriously missed it in that one. It has been a few years, but the one questions, as I recall, that he avoids is: Why was the Florida Court so willing to rule as they did?

One cannot condemn the SCOTUS, and not address the FSC.

I’m not criticizing him for trying to push his book. I’m criticizing him for being an *ssclown and claiming that the Supreme Court stole the election for Bush. That is crap. I am as angry at Bush over immigration as anyone, but the questioning and lying about the “stolen” election has added tremendously to the partisan divide in this country. Because the election was “stolen,” the other side feels it can go way beyond being the loyal opposition. They have no qualms about hurting this country.

The Florida shenanigans, courtesy of David Boies, et al, happened anyway. A book from Vincent Bugliosi isn’t, pragmatically, going to add much to the divisiveness that occurred in/from the 2000 elections.

He saw it as a payday. Perhaps, in his memoirs, he’ll do a mea culpa.

How long can you beat a dead horse, all that is left are bits of bones.

Here’s the facts:

Daddy Kennedy goes to oganized crime to get son elected prez.

Son gets elected.

Brother of son is anointed head of justice dept.

Both goes after organized crime.

Organized crime says...WTF?

Retribution followed.

Bugliosi is a liberal, no doubt. He is entitled to his opinions.

The facts of the JFK case are not so malleable. Many of the authors that have written sucessful conspiracy books have been liberal or far left, so why should Bugliosi be dismissed because of his politics?

Deal with the subject matter.

Interesting story. People can tell a lot of interesting stories. A lot of motives can be assigned. In the end you have to go with evidence. Finding a motive doesn't solve a crime, you need evidence that someone actually did it. There is no evidence that your story happened.
