RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

Biggest BS chunk of the article:

“The phone-bank employees were terminated,” RNC spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt wrote by e-mail in response to questions sent by The Times. “This was not an easy decision. The first and primary motivating factor was the state of the phone bank technology, which was outdated and difficult to maintain. The RNC was advised that we would soon need an entire new system to remain viable.”

Oh, yeah—OK. It really had mainly to do with the phone system. We just didn’t need these people because our phone systems were outdated. What a load of crap!

Keep up the good work people! Keep telling them how angry you are and that they don’t get a DIME EVER if this shamnesty bill goes through.

That’s why all of the solicitations I get have been going in the circular file. And is it just me, or does Tony Snow sound like a used-car salesman when he tries to pitch this amnesty plan.

I hope Duncan Hunter gains traction due to this issue.

Yes, I watched Laura Ingraham on with Sean Hannity last night and while she mentioned many candidates' chances to improve I don't recall Duncan. They indicated it is Romney rising. I think the bigotry against him backfires and actually helps him.

The RNC has been taking Florida for granted for years. Those days are over. Florida is a wild card now and it’s their own fault.

The fact that we voted in the RINO Crist and have two Democrat Senators, err, (seems like two) pushing for the immigration issue, has been our downfall. When we were spoiled by a great Governor in Jeb, the only way to go is down.

I, like many others, have told the solicitors I will not donate until the GOP gets off their asses and vote this "amnesty" bill down.

It’s more than just illegal immigration. The Republican Party offers little choice vs. the Demo-Socialist Party. They are both for Socialist Security, Medicare, Medicaid, gun control, ETC. The Republicans are fake capitalists and the Democrats are socialists. In general, I have taxation without representation.

ah, but soon we will have not only taxation without representation but we will have our illegal aliens legal as well. Then we will all be drinking that free bubble-up and eating that rainbow stew.

I’m sending in my RNC survey and I’d like to share what I’m sending with FR. How do I include a scanned document in my post? Any help out there? Thanks.

I hope Duncan Hunter gains traction due to this issue.

What's he doing to make that happen? He can't just sit back and assume that the events of the day will lead people to him -- he needs to aggressively point out where he's different from the RINOs, using all communication mechanisms available. Why isn't he doing that?

I don’t know why the RNC is NOT getting the message.

Maybe they really are hoping that if they listen to the illegals over the legal voting citizen, the grateful amnesty group will vote Republican.

Is our government so sure we’ve been silenced that we’ll take this quietly?

I was reading some of the replies here. I see you found this already. I was getting ready to ping the Canteen and others to this thread. What part of ILLEGAL does the RNC not get?

That's because they didn't call anyone in the state of Denial, where most of the RNC staff has been living.

Faced with an estimated 40 percent falloff in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee's chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, fired staff members told The Times.

40% reduction = you still claim Americans "want" immigration reform. Truth = Americans want illegal alien deportment ENFORCEMENT and secure the border.

aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update = baloney. If there are so few calls the older equipment should be able to handle it.

Personal opinion? Why did they fire ALL of the phone staff? Because they know TOO MUCH. They have been listening to over 90% of the folks that have donated in the past rip them a new one when the call now asking for money. What are they mad about? Bush push amnesty.

Additional thoughts? I bet the donations are down more than 40% overall.
