My last mail solicitiation from them was returned with “no money if Rudy is the nominee” on it. But I would have gladly done the same over amnesty.

Is it Constitutional Convention time? Maybe we need to add a Bill of Non-rights to the Bill of Rights. I could vote for a Constitutional Amendment to stop the invasion across the borders and to eliminate economic development for eminent domain...

Don’t trash it, send it back to them in their self-addressed stamped envelope and tell them once again why it is that you are a “former donor”. I do.

I’m in Atlanta also, I agree with you. We can vote for Dems down here because some are more conservative then the Repubs actually. However, I always voted for Repubs in order to maintain the Senate.

I am not going to worry about this anymore. I worked hard to get Chambliss elected...his staff was rude and condescending to me. I hear Chambliss is being heckled across the state at his events-loud boos. It serves him right. I would never vote for him nor Isakson. I never much liked Isakson anyway, and his staff is even ruder then Chambliss’s staff. I hope you enjoy your retirement losers. Several Dems were elected in the southern part of the state in 2006. The GOP could lose GA just like Florida if they are not careful.

"This isn`t an excuse for illegals, but we need some low skilled workers from someplace.."

Well, I'm glad you're not making excuses for the illegals, and you are almost correct when you say we need "low-skilled" workers.

Please be aware that our tax money has been subsidizing higher education, and why do we need all these folks receiving bachelor degrees anyway? Let 'em work for their education, they'll appreciate it all the more.

Furthermore, the idea of minimum wage has eliminated much of the early training for young folks breaking into the job market.

In short; our government's policies have been creating the very conditions we are now lamenting.

Then there is the welfare state phenomenon; this country has set up many incentives for illegals to come here. Everything in the U.S. "free" or so it seems.

We can thank our own government for all of it.

Our current political leadership demonstratesthe same TRUST issues in just about any episode of 24......

Broken trust is the primary failure of the Republican leadership.

Newt's indiscretions seem to have sparked the current landslide, and the RNC greesed the skids.....

Democrats haven't been trustworthy for decades.....

I haven’t read all 700+ messages that have been posted thus far, so maybe I am repeating something already said, but in addition to the Republican Parties fund raising decline due to illegal immigration, they have been paying for some seriously ineffective calling from their telemarketers.

I have received calls from certain numbers (which I have later verified to be from Republican fund raising telemarketers) as many as 8 times a day. When I have answered the phone to ask them to stop calling me, there has been no one on the line to speak to. So, even if I wanted to donate (which I don't because I am so angry over the immigration problem) I couldn't.

I got a call from them last week and told the guy to call an illegal alien or a criminal employer for money since they are the only ones the RNC cares about now.

(Sorry to chine in late, but:)

"Nice. Finally, a language those bonehead politicians understand....$$$" (and)
"... I've told the callers several times in the past that I was done donating unless something was done about illegal immigration, long before this amnesty mess came about. Nothing changed, no money."

I've been sending their solicitations back to them with my message instead of money, I've been telling their callers that nothing on the agenda matters so long as GWB and the party refuse to defend our own borders, and I've been doing it for years.

No one has been listening throughout this administration's tenure - not just today when the chips are on the table.

The pay off will come in 2008 when, unless a miracle takes place in the meantime, the pubbies are crushed a the polls. Of course, (then) president Hillary will announce that amnesty wasn't her idea and she only voted for it because someone hid information from congress.

A miracle in this instance would be:
(1) defeat of this surrender offer by a large margin,
(2) some progress in Iraq that the MSM cannot hide, and,
(3) the republicrats finding the grit to nominate Hunter and make both Thompson and Tancredo significant players in any proposed cabinet.
(Almost forgot: (4) and put McCain and maybe Rudy out to pasture along with Condi and anyone else associated with the present administration)

"What the solution is I do not know,"

Elect more conservatives, and fewer socialists.

Our socialist government is responsible for this mess, now we get to clean it up.

I have seen small subdivisions in Ga over-run with illegals living 10 or 20 to a house. They keep livestock in Atlanta suburbs. The poor people who have lived their for many years watched the value of their houses go down to nothing.

In Gwinnet County-hispanic gangs (illegals) are a huge problem. I’ve been to the emergency room twice this year. Each time I saw hundreds of illegals with no health insurance getting free insurance. They also get food stamps, wick and free schooling at my expense.

I can’t send either of my daughters into Walmart these days without grown men following them around. The girls are 10 and 15. Don’t talk to me about bowing to the inevitable and accepting these people. Never! Penalize employers so severely that they won’t offer jobs to illegals. They will go home.

RNC hasn't been getting a dime out of me since Bush I broke his "lips promise."

Every time they have called or sent me a solicitation since then my reply has been, "I'm very sorry but all the money I had earmarked for campaign contributions is being used to pay my 'no new taxes' bill."

I still vote "against" the lesser of two evils (been voting since 1968 but only twice have I voted "FOR" a presidential candidate)but I do not give money to anyone except conservatives and then I let them know why I am giving it to them directly.

My new reply to RNC solicitations: "I'm very sorry, but due to the actions and attitudes of the GOP's politicians; all the money I had earmarked for campaign contributions is being used to learn Spanish.

Maybe, we could yell ‘hey Bushie’ outside of the White House...I doubt Laura would be helpful.

"Is this it?"

Looks that way.

A regular "Jump the shark" moment in history.

And you were here when it happened!

“I feel bad for those who have lost their jobs but I really hope the RNC gets a clue from all this.”

I also feel sorry for those that lost their jobs.

But for every solicitor that lost a job, there are thousands more that have lost their livelihoods to illegal aliens.

When I was a kid, I bought my first car using money I made doing “jobs Americans won’t do”. Yep. I picked crops in the field from sunup to sundown.

I put myself through engineering school doing “jobs Americans won’t do”. So did my brothers.

In my poor area of the country there are many, many, families that make their living doing “jobs Americans won’t do”. They didn’t have parents with the money to get them better educations.

Feel sorry for them.

I wanted to punch Jorge in the nose when he made that ignorant, insulting, and dishonest statement.

I think the real goal, among many, of this bill is to get worker ID cards. Then no one will get work without one. It has all sorts of bad possibilities attached to it.

“We just have to grow-up and realize we are going to have to accept some form of amnesty”

No. We don’t.

We did that before.
