24. What are the three branches of our government?
WTH?
My brother-in-law became a citizen several years ago after living in this country for almost 40 years. Even tho he is from Honduras, the topic of what he considers himself never comes up since what he has accomplished and what he has achieved while living here speaks for itself. This country is literally filled with probably millions of naturalized citizens both successful and not so successful who are just plain glad to be living here..........
Why someone has to even consider labeling themselves ...?????/American is beyond my comprehension. I guess we have to thank the black community for that contribution to our culture.
There are a lot of questions like that. Look at questions 21, 22 and 23 also.
Every member nation of the United Nations gets to send a whole bunch of completely useless morons and thieves to the UN, which keeps them from screwing up the home country. Each nation benefits tremedously from this, except us, which is why I advocate moving the UN to foreign soil. The moon would be a good place for it.
Anyone who considers themselves to be a hyphenated American doesn’t deserve American citizenship.
One example of a true American is someone who, after crossing the Atlantic in a leaky old boat, arriving at Hoboken NJ as a legal immigrant, suffering from seasickness, makes a bee-line to the nearest military recruiting station in order to enlist with the intention to kill communists.
54. How many Supreme Court justice are there?
Five —and four hanger-on.
I never really, really appreciated my country, America, until I married my husband who escaped Cuba right after Castro assumed power. Then I saw America through his eyes and he loves America and the American people. His English was pretty good, but he went to Hunter College in New York to perfect his English and get rid of his accent. If someone asks him where he comes from he names our hometown. He is AMERICAN period. No hyphen at all.
But if we must fight, then we go all out; that we will kill our enemies as fast and as a numerously as humanly possible, that we will bring relentless devastation and carnage to our adversaries and not stop until they are either dead or have surrendered.
That used to be the case anyway. Until politicians worried about political correctness got involved and neutered our military responses.
Because it is evident by the article that it's true.
I think it is odd that the (written by...that doesnt get it) I think it is well written and having shared this experience I thought the writer is interesting.
When you write a sentence like the one above, your opinion on the quality of the writing becomes suspect.
30. How many senators are there in Congress?
31. Can you name the two senators from your state?
52. Why are there 100 Senators in the Senate?
38. What is the supreme court law of the United States?
39. What is the Bill of Rights?
62. What is the national anthem of the United States?
63. Who wrote the Star-Spangled Banner?
90. Where is the White House located?
91. What is the name of the Presidents official home?
93. Who is the Commander in Chief of the U.S. military?
94. Which President was the first Commander in Chief of the U.S. military?
A truly well written test.......not.
‘There is no such thing as a Chinese-American.’
That must mean Americans of English descent must be the best Americans of all as although I often hear Irish-American or Italian-American and every other hyphenation, I never hear English-American! ;-)
87. What is the most important right granted to U.S. citizens?
Let's see----could that be to steal American taxpayer's dollars for the enrichment of a bunch of un-elected foreign bureaucrats???
WTF is a question about the UNITED NATIONS doing on a citizenship test for the UNITED STATES.
Wonderfully spoken. As Dianekes the Spartan said the the Egyptian officer in Xerxes service who tried to entice the Spartans with gold and pleasure. “You have never tasted freedom my friend. Else you would know, it is purchased, not with gold, but with STEEL!”
I guess some of us are not as smart and skilled as you. We all have different talents, mine is not belittling people that try to make themselves better. Many here do have that in abundance.
A good test taker knows answers to some questions may be found inside other questions. I used this to my advantage in Navy advancement tests.
A poor test taker won’t even notice.
See that wasn’t so hard.
Gema, that's what it is to be an American.
