“I think the status quo is indefensible,” McConnell said. “The status quo is what’s produced 11 or 12 million illegal immigrants in the country with no real plan—a de facto amnesty if you will for those who are already here.”

I cannot believe this coming out of McConnell. It isn’t the status quo that produced millions of illegals, it’s the fact the borders were not addressed with sufficient backing of existing laws to prevent the invasion. A failure of McConnel and Company to be specific.

I called both Bob Corker and Lamar Alexaner (TN) today, thanking them for their no vote, and that I continue to oppose any form of amnesty.

Mitch McConnell has just turned my respect for him into contempt. Not that he will give a damn about that, anymore than the President and a slew of other putrid politician panderers who have earned a position on my sh*t list.

The salvation of the USA still rests upon the shoulders of the same brave and patriotic few Senators who said no to Amnesty and anarchism before. We need their names and addresses, that we may encourage them to stand their ground despite the pressure that will surely be applied upon them by the President and their fellow Senators.

I agree but I think they’re planning to take the country to hell first. This crowd in the Senate is mostly made up of fifth columnists for Mexico.

McConnell is in an awkward position. The President wants him to push this bill, the Senators are divided, and the Republican bases is on the warpath. He seems to be trying to talk about the bill while saying as little as possible.

I can cut him some slack for that...but it is time for him to hear us roar.

I plan to tell him that the choice is not between this bill and the status quo...there are other options, like securing the borders using the laws already on the books.

And, for the record, I believe ‘defacto amnesty’ is better than that actually amnesty in this bill in three ways.

1. Defacto amnesty does not reward illegal entry into the US with citizenship.

2. Defacto amnesty does not allow those who entered the country illegally to legally bring in 4 of their closest relatives.

3. Defacto amnesty is does make the American taxpayers forever responsible for the illegals.

And what is more, defacto amnesty still allows the American citizen hope that eventually the United States government will wake up and pass a bill that favors the American taxpayer over illegal immigrants.

Call/email/fax/write. Keep those cards and letters going, folks.

>>Or, are there other theories out there?<<

Bush made a secret deal with Mexico for oil?

This plus the other 3 theories you listed could all be true.

One thing we must do to stop the flow is to de-incentivize illegal immigration. Stop offering welfare and free health care to illegals and we could solve much of this problem.

Mr. McConnell, the status quo is better than amnesty. And if you tell Kentuckians that the Z-visa isn’t amnesty, you are lying.

- Bush believes in the North American Superstate of Canada, the US and Mexico - and is implementing this plan in piecemeal fashion - first by intermingling US and Mexican populations. The rest of the plan would go down much easier after this nation-dissolving step.

Without a doubt. I read the book EnRoute to Global Occupation by Gary Kah back in the 80’s and this plan was covered extensively. At the time I didn’t take it very seriously but now I do, since I’m seeing it played out right before my eyes.

Solutions to border prob and present illegals>

Build the fence and get some troops on the border to help enforce the current laws.

Stop allowing Western Union to wire money out of the USA

Ronald Reagan also signed amnesty legislation back in 1986! We don’t need that part of Ronald Reagan repeated, thank you very much!

Why introduce more bills when Kennedy’s 85/86 bill that kept on having ammendments all the way up to 2000 was such a failure. I guess he truly believes in recycling because this new bill is just a recycled one. Put a bow on it dress it up and it is still a get out of jail free card. But in the words of McCain and others we are to lazy, to dumb and racist and that is why we need all these illgeals and we are against it. NO LEADERS OF THIS COUNTRY WE ARE AGAINST PEOPLE GETTING A PASS ON BREAKING THE LAW WHEN MILLIONS OF PEOPLE STAND IN LINE, PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND WHAT YEARS TO HAVE THERE LOVE ONES JOIN THEM. And I guess truly our leaders dont believe in the will of the people. I guess they forgot who they work for. I guess my parents obeyed the laws for nothing.

There is something going on under the radar that the American public is not privy to.

I agree with you.

Then the question becomes "whatever it is, why wouldn't they share something so fundamentally important?"

Here’s something else to seriously ponder about: the “Shamnesty” legislation quickly-quickly-makes U.S. “illegals” into “legals”, and it also quickly-quickly-allows them to register to vote in all future U.S. elections! With the future, endless large numbers of illegals continuously coming into the U.S. with many of them also choosing to register to vote in the U.S. in order to continuously vote for all “pro-amnesty for illegal immigrants” politicians at every political level, how are most truly conservative politicians supposed to survive at all, and how is the entire U.S. as a country supposed to not very soon become a third world country forever?

From what I heard McConnell was the one who started the whole thing in the first place.
