I know how you feel. Senators are indeed hard for little people to influence. But a few probably have been influenced. Look at the list of key senators that’s somewhere on this thread. Focus on those.

The guilty knowledge that they’re doing this in utter opposition to public opinion in their party will have some effect, even if the bill passes the Senate. It can affect what happens in the House, and it might lead some senators to make up for their votes in some way. Also, those aides sometimes have the senator’s ear. The “base” becomes more real to them the more they hear from it. Effects may be indirect and subtle, but nonetheless real.

It is always better to do something rather than nothing!

AMEN! I'm sorry if I sound like a whiney Democrat, but never in my life have I felt as betrayed by my party as I have these last three weeks. But if we're gonna go down, I'm gonna go down swinging!
