Even if it gets a hundred times worse for him, he will not be able to appreciate what the boys he persecuted were going through, because they were innocent victims of an out of control prosecutor. Nifong has earned any punishment he may get.

Wait a minute....

I’ve been following this case closely and NEVER have I heard one word uttered that it was a dumb thing to do to hire strippers. Of course I could have missed it but I’m doubting you. Forgive me.

And of course it doesn’t mean they raped anyone. That’s beside any point I’m trying to make.

You know, I just don’t get it. The original poster said he (or she) would be proud of Seligman was his or her boy. Well how proud can you be of a kid that was involved with hiring strippers, yay specifically requesting BLACK strippers? I’d be embarrassed beyond tears because it’s demeaning to women. Men just hate for women to point this out because like liberals they want to keep on doing stuff that makes them feel good and not be called on it.

My mission, and I’m not letting up oh no I’m not, is to keep pointing out that this demeaning of women should not be treated as a “boys will be boys” thing because it’s not. And again, I ask, how would you feel if your sister, daughter or mother showed up to give the show? And no, it’s not beside the point of this case. It’s EXACTLY the sort of circumstance where this learning point can be made.

But this does not mean that I didn’t think that Seligman’s testimony today wasn’t shattering. This young man’s whole life was devistated. I don’t know how Nifong could sit there and listen. I’d have felt like two cents, ruining a young life like Nifong did, all for his own gain. But then I have a very well-developed sense of guilt. Heh. Which is why I don’t get how come those boys and all who do such a thing don’t feel guilty for using women like this.

And further, if just one of those boys would come out with how this objectification of women can lead to unintended circumstances, hey they could sell their story and have a best seller. I haven’t heard either any boy or their parents mention the wrongness in hiring strippers to come to a private party when hey, those boys were supposed to be in SCHOOL.

After the mother of all civil suits.

I hope the players sue him. But who pays? Nifong probably does not have a lot of money. Would the government entity he worked for be liable? (Not sure if this is city, county or state government.)

if Seligman was your boy, wouldn’t you advise him that it was a bit on the dumb side to have ordered strippers in the first place?
This is the part I’d like to see out of those boys...some remorse over this stupid act.

This has been gone over a thousand times, but

1) He didnt order the strippers , he merely went to the party for a half an hour.
Ordering strippers is legal and should every person who showed up at a crazy frat or drunken party be subject to this kind of framing?

2) Those boys have already apologized , publicly, for going to a party where there were strippers (o my god!!), which is more times than , the Press, Nancy Grace, the Durham Police Department, Duke University, the Faculty 88 have apologized for their part in this railroading.

Unless you live in a cave, you would know over 90 % of college students have gone to a party and drunk a beer( the only illegal act done). If this kind of prosecutorial abuse was commonplace in college towns I can guarantee you that the prosecutorial system in this country would look far different than it does now (the taxpaying middle class wouldnt stand for it)

Its frustrating to hear that there are still ignorant people like yourself out there first learning about case of egregious injustice.

At least the disbarment case against the scumbag is still ongoing, but I fear that they will consider his resignation

When this case first came out the members of the lacrosse team gave an interview where they admitted hiring of a stripper was a dumb move, this was the same interview where they admitted the e-mail, (remember the e-mail quoting American Psycho) was also a dumb move.

As for me, my daughter or someone else in my family becoming I stripper I can only say this. I raised my children to respect all people and to stay as far away from porn and all it’s subscum as possible. Not so much for moral reason but for the decayed life they potentially would be led down.

As for someone in my family, I would do everything in my power, not limited to kidnapping them, to keep them from entering into that lifestyle. HOWEVER - in the end, it would still be up to my family member to make that awful mistake or not.

Sorry, but Magnum and all other women out there who work in the sex industry have choices. They have the choice to spread their legs for money, to show off their bodies for money etc. This attitude that women need to be protected from the vicious likes of men is to Taliban I don’t even want to get into it here.

Imo, both parties, those who buy and those who sell, are equally quilty.

In this case the penalty has been more then sufficient for one group, Magnum, the other part of this get’s off scott free.

Has he actually resigned or simply said he will resign? There is a difference, especially where Nifong is concerned. The man is a liar and a criminal. He should be fired! And then he should be prosecuted for the criminal he is!

Does being a college student mean you are IN SCHOOL 7/24? What is your point? It was midnight+ on a weekend.

Listen, you prude, ordering strippers is LEGAL. NOBODY should be framed for rape and kidnapping just because they attend a party where people, of their own volition, act WITHIN the law. You need to grow up.

Sorry. I am not ignorant. I am serious and I am right.

I have not heard those boys say they thought it was wrong. If I missed it I stand corrected but it didn’t happen.

And just because it’s done all over the place, and I agree, but it’s not right and I’ll never think it’s right.

And anyone who can read certainly can read that I do NOT, in any way, justify what was done to those boys,.

But okay, I do this from time to time and I get the same sort of reaction...I am ignorant, I am dumb, how dare you question the wisdom of objectifying women....boys will be boys....it’s all in good fun.

I’ll never stop believing I have a point but on this thread anyway, I’ve said my piece and I think I’ve said it well.

I have no respect at all for you. Just as you have no respect for my ignorant self.

End of discussion.

Like I said....I’ll leave you alone.

Obviously you like to hire strippers. But hey, it’s legal.
