I couldn’t view it, probably too many people hitting the server. Sounds cool, I’ll check back later.

I thought I had seen some of that footage before and I’m not sure it was described as a Canadian Sniper.

this shows up on YouTube too
I think they must be using exploding rounds.
That’s alot of material flying per hit .

That video originated on a hunting website, and it’s some rockchucks being blown away with conventional .30 cal hunting rifles at fairly close range. It’s NOT a sniper shooting Taliban with a .50 cal rifle. The .50 cal is powerful, but it doesn’t vaporize and rip apart a human body. Those are some kind of woodchuck kind of thing, not people. This video has been around for several years now, and periodically gets posted as a “hot” sniper video, which it’s not.

A 50 cal. round is about 7-8 inches long Sounds a little long to me. IIR the overall length of a .50 is short of 6 inches. Little consolation, however, to the person on the receiving end of the transaction.

Those are rock chucks. The western version of a ground hog. Probably shot with a 22-250.

at 50cal bullet would not do that to human body at the range described. If I remember correctly the 50 cal projectile is about 750 grains (appox 1/10+ lb) and leaving the muzzle at 2600 to 3000 fps, it would no way have that kind of energy at 7000 to 8000 ft range. Maybe it was a much larger caliber??

Suddenly I feel better about the world in general.
The first one is still my favorite , because of the height it attained. I feel like I’m judging a leap in a figure skating competition.
