Mexicans to March with Cuba July 26

Nearly 300 Mexican political, civic and union organizations have joined the call to march on July 26, Cuba’s National Rebellion Day, with the slogan, “To Defend Cuba Is to Defend Mexico.”

Peter Geller, a leader of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MMSC), confirmed on Monday to Prensa Latina that a high turnout is expected.

Initiated by MMSC, the march has been scheduled to mark the 54th anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Manuel de Cespedes garrisons.

Demonstrators will march to the US Embassy in the Mexican capital, where they will demand cessation of US aggressions against Cuba and the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Island for over 45 years.

“More than ever before, defending Cuba is defending Mexico,” says the call, emphasizing how the Cuban people keep their revolutionary project alive and firmly defend their sovereignty and self-determination.
