Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.
On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

For now. While we should all celebrate and enjoy the fruits of our hard work, do not for a second become too overjoyed with those who merely voted "No" or even switched to "No" after the first vote. We have a LOT of work to do in order to clean out the deep, ugly stench of corruption from our government.

Byrd is in rough shape. Taking 20 minutes to respond to a newspaper article saying he was old seems a bit odd.
We need to call our Senators who voted No and Thank them. We also need to help defeat thos who voted yes. And we need a list posted somewhere listing those who voted both ways.

They’ll all be home next week. We should take a breather and celebrate the holiday, but I suggest after that we spearhead a massive effort to get the government to enforce the laws in place!
We need to be just as vocal and noisy and send the message:
BUILD THE FENCE!!!
ENFORCE THE LAWS!!!!
These people WILL self deport if they can’t get jobs. Fines and INS raids should do the trick—as far as “sanctuary cities” we should demand legislation that withholds any and all Federal funding from those jurisdictions that fail to comply with Federal immigration laws. We also need to demand that local or state law enforcement has the right to enforce immigration laws by incarcerating illegals and turning them over to Federal agents for IMMEDIATE deportation!

We know this bill was terribly unpopular across the board-NO ONE, conservative or liberal, seemed to like this bill . Over and over again it was stated that the threads on this bill at DU look like the FR threads on it-very angry.To the liberals, Democrats , DUers and others who put the heat on your Democratic senators especially, making them see the political costs of this bill:
