Outstanding!
Too bad it looks like one of the perps is wasting a lot of taxpayer’s money in ICU.

A great touch in the opening of the original Dirty Harry is how he keeps eating his sandwhich, while walking across the street with his 44 in one hand, on the way to stopping the robbery.

“They then attempted to rob the lone customer, John Lovell, 71, of Plantation, by forcing him into the restroom, but Lovell, who was legally armed, pulled his gun and fired, police said.”
I hope that Mr Lovell was able to finish his sandwich.

*sniff* I love a happy ending.
And, just in case we forgot, we've been reminded... there are no ex-Marines.

Same goes for Army vets. Bad news on wheels for a perp.

This old devil dog needs to go back to the range. Cant believe he didnt properly dispatch the second miscreant. He got 'em both in the head at contact distance. Now it becomes a caliber issue. Plus, the one who lived prolly didn't have a lot of brains to start with....In fact these could have been some of my students. Hard headed all of them. I teach one county south in Miami Dade and my kids are all inner city. Wouldn't be unusual for them to go to Broward to get into trouble. That's the one area in which they excell.

Hey Gunny. You ever run into Marvin Hope in your travels. He was a gunny who served in Nam?

Knew a GySgt Hope—dunno first name—he took one of the freebie temp WO commisions in ‘66 when they commissioned all SNCOs—think he retired soon after that...may/may not be the one you speak of.

Might be Mel. He became a police chief in North Carolina. I use to go on news chat with him. His handle was MarineVet.
He is now guarding the Gates of Heaven. He passed on in 2002.

I'll guess experience and range time heavily favored the " old guy".One can imagine him thinking to himself... "I'm only batting .500, the years must be catching up with me!"

Counting on a victim, they encountered a Marine.

I wonder how long it will take before Quanell X and the New Black Panthers show up for a “news conference” seeing how their recent one in Texas didn’t go so well or do do they have a race-baiter franchise for Florida as well as Texas?

But I wonder how one armed old guy shot two armed young guys. Generally, it's foolish to pull a gun on anyone who is already pointing one at you... but I suspect the punks were feeling confident and got careless long enough for their victim to turn the tables on them.
IOW, the 71-year-old waited for the right moment, then surprised them... and I'll bet his two assailants were very surprised indeed when they fell down and began bleeding profusely.

I do hope they don't erect one of those inane " shrines " , featuring candles, stuffed animals and signs. The ones with the photocopies of newsprinted mugshot photos always tug the ol' heartstrings, yep... :-)
