“...he first voted Yes on cloture today, and then switched his vote to no”
Shame on Voinovitch and Brownback for lacking the character and the conviction of their principles. I guess they only have one: Get re-elected. They both need to be replaced in the next primary they have.
That’s just it; these people weren’t for “healthy debate;” they failed at deceitful tactics to cram a new underclass down America’s throats, using completely novel parlaimentary tricks, skipping mark-ups, and some of the most brazen lies since Hitler tricked Christian Democrats into voting for his power grab.
I defended members of the Gang of Seven, saying I thought they were misguided, but that we couldn’t presume evil motives, since their professed concern was a valid one. This time out, though, these guys are just flat-out liars. They keep saying that it isn’t an amnesty, but the very first page of the bill promises all current illegals legal residency. All the stuff about learning English and paying fines and all that only applies to people seeking citizenship, not to the invaders.
These men are spinning facts, highlighting the lightness in shades of gray, or simply making mistakes or anything of the sort. They are just plain lying, and they would have destroyed America if we had let them.
Craig is a far better Senator than Martinez, but it sounds like you’re not to keen on dumping Martinez . Craig is probably the most steadfast defender of the Second Amendment in the Senate, and I would like know a little more about his motivation on this before declaring him in the “must replace” column . Craig is by no means a RINO .
The others on the list are RINO’s and deserve a good primary defeat .
I’d like nothing better, believe me. Sanford is a strong conservative and would grind Pandsey into taco meat.
But based on some stuff he’s said (and I’m sorry I don’t have a link), I think he feels pretty fulfilled managing South Carolina. He’s had several major run ins with the state legislature and AFAIK, he’s won every time.
I called SC Republican HQ this morning to tell them I will not vote for Graham under any circumstances.
Anybody but Lindsey - Senate ‘08.
>> Id focus on Graham, Craig and Hagel. All three are beatable in a primary and still keep the GOP seat. <<
That’s exactly what I wrote.
Bennett of Utah is also not up for election. He is a traitor to those of us who have supported some of his projects in Southern Utah. Wrote several emails last week trying to get some response. Never heard a word.
I will be very vocal from here on out to everyone who visits our Living History project here.

I have to admit I am surprised, even shocked, at how bad Craig has been on this issue. I would not call for his ouster, if I were not confident we could keep his seat.
Hello South Carolina? Is there anyone considering running against Sen. Shamnesty???
I’d focus on Hagel. The Communist China-bought scumbag loves to backstab America. McCain’s becoming irrelevant quickly, and Hagel seems to be taking his place.
When I called his office, they were terse, and didn’t even ask for my name.
Is Susan Collins up for re-election?
I agree with the thought/questions but I do believe that the amnesty bill is a lot bigger issue than the ones you mentioned and therefore got more attention on both sides of the aisle.
I don't recall telephone calls/faxes/emails/outcry to the same extent on the issues you mentioned as on the amnesty issue. I don't think anyone has necessarily "forgotten." It's just that this amnesty issue is/was a much larger issue.
>> Contribute early and often to defeat Hagel.
Whaddayaknow? Bruning finally got something up on his website besides the “Donate To My Campaign” page (don’t you know that THAT was the first working portion of the site!)
His positions on the issues seem conservative with the exception of this, on farm policy:
“Government should provide support and economic incentives to family farmers in need of assistance, especially those developing crops used to make bio-fuel.”
NO THANK YOU!
But other than that, he looks like a good challenger to Hagel. I just might have to send him a few shekels.
Sue Collins is up for re-election. She voted the right way, on this issue, however, and he state is becoming very blue. I would certainly vote against her if I ever had the opportunity, but for reasons which aren’t germaine to this topic: she is a pro-abortion left-winger.
If I remember correctly, it was rumored bush considered that POS for his VP.
Need to focus on defeating the Republicans and Democrats who voted for this nonsense and are up for reelection next year.
Oh, I agree!
However, I just wanted to point out that failing to represent the best interests of Americans has been going on for quite some time, not just since the introduction of this bill.
Good points! Thanks
When is that turncoat up for election? I'll move to his state to vote against him.
Brownback did no such thing. He voted yes on cloture to debate and no on cloture to vote the bill.
