In an interview in this coming Sunday's New York Times Magazine, Matt Groening, creator of "The Simpsons," declares that while he gets along well with Rupert Murdoch -- who owns the network that airs the TV show -- he doesn't want him to buy the Wall Street Journal.

"I think he owns enough," Groening says. But he recalls Murdoch being "gracious every time I've met him" and even going along with his animated appearance on the show with the entrance line, "I'm Rupert Murdoch, the billionaire tyrant."

He says this as he milks every last pointless drop out of the Simpsons cash cow. Enough is enough, Matt.

“I think he owns enough,” Groening says.

Spoken like a true leftist.

I think you own enough, Matt. Someone should take your wealth away from you.

Works both ways, doesn’t it?

These comments would make great free publicity if Matt had a movie come out!

It's OK - Murdock gets along with Groening too. Murdock thinks Bart's hair should be blue and Maggie's purple, but realizes Matt might know more about cartoons. Too bad Matt's not equally insightful...

Unlike Groening, Murdoch is still expanding, growing and changing, not stale, boring, and five years past his prime like....hmmmm....some show or something....I can’t remember the name.

The only way I can tell Matt what to do is to watch or not watch, my ability to watch or not watch is controlled by his Boss or the Free Market, it is Matt’s choice to pull, push, withdraw or move on with his product. No skin off my Teeth.

Well Matt as they say You Can Want in One hand....Sh!t in the Other, and tell me which one fills up quicker...Maybe if you didn’t “Want” Murdoch to buy the Journal you could have bought it yourself..............

I'm sure Rupert could care less as long as the Simpson's remain profitable and Matt could care less as long as he gets paid.

Dear Matt:

Love the whole "Simpsons" thing, kid, I really do. Especially the way you put the spurs to the show with this upcoming movie. You must be really raking it in, and I hate to bring it up, but I think you own enough right now. Even though I have no real talent in your field, and I will never make the kind of money you pull down, I think that God Almighty has made me the Income Police, so put half your cash in a suitcase and mail it to me, OK?

"I think he owns enough," Groening says.

I think Groening needs to do something to restore the quality of the writing on The Simpsons or else just put the show out of it's misery.

I used to love the Simpsons, but I’ve stopped watching it 10 years ago or so. It gotten a bit stale.

"I think he owns enough," Groening says.

What a dolt. Must be a leftist looney. He'd scream like a gored hog if someone told him he owned enough.

The real issue is, Who cares what Matt Hroening thinks about the transaction. He is a highly paid, EMPLOYEE, not a board member.

I am constantly amazed at how the political opinions of entertainment celbreties are thrown out in the media as if writing the word, “D’oh” in a script, somehow give you political insight that is worthy of my attention.

Next!

You’re right. I have not watched it in about 10 years either. I think it jumped the shark at about that time.

Was “Angry Dad” the shark-jumping moment for the Simpson’s or did the audience grow up?

Big time. I don't know about you but I loved the early simpson episodes where they would mostly focus on Bart.
