Bush: Americans will realize need for aliens
The Washington Times ^ | July 20, 2007 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 07/20/2007 6:17:46 PM PDT by Baladas

President Bush yesterday said Americans will soon realize they need the immigrants and foreign temporary workers that would have been allowed by his immigration bill, which was defeated in the Senate last month.

Mr. Bush, in a town hall session in Nashville, Tenn., also refused to say whether he will pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a fleeing drug-smuggling suspect, saying the prosecutor was a friend of his who made his case to the jury that convicted the agents.

If Mr. Bush was hoping the immigration issue would disappear after his bill's failure, those hopes were dashed, as he was asked repeatedly about border security during the forum — meant to highlight his commitment to cutting the deficit.

"The bill failed and I can't make a prediction to you at this point, sir, where it's going to head," the president told one questioner. "I can make you a prediction, though, that pretty shortly people are going to be knocking on people's doors saying, man, we're running out of workers."

Mr. Bush said there are workers who will do jobs Americans aren't doing in the agriculture sector in particular, and without them the jobs will go unfilled.

American people to W: “Fine. Build the wall, show us the government is actually going to act on its commitments, then let’s talk about what needs to be done.”

Is our President deaf, dumb and blind? He and so many insist on lumping legal and illegal together under one standard. They really don’t have a clue why Americans are so up in arms. The politicians are truly and completely out of touch and downright arrogant. God I wish there was a strong third party.

Fed up and angry

Build a fence. (It can be done)

Enforce the border. (It can be done)

Kick the illegal alien criminals out. (It can be done)

Get the criminals off of the government cheese and out of the ER. (It can be done)

Jail and then deport the illegal alien criminals driving illegally on our roads. (It can be done)

Jail the employers of these criminals. (It can be done)

Don’t press a single damn button for English because WE speak English. (It can be done)

Elect a President that will do this. (It wasn’t done)

This is what we want and we failed by electing a lying RINO instead of a Conservative.

Your last post is diametrically opposed to what you have previously posted. Especially when you kiss bray’s ass.

I have traveled internationally quite a bit and I ALWAYS had my passport and visa when required. I never trashed their country, never voted, never hung their flag upside down with my countries above it and damn sure never broke any laws. I did not drink beer at the 7-11 at 8:00am then pissed or crapped on the side of the road by a bus stop full of kids. I respected their country and expect the same or they should get the boot like I would have.

If you will stand by your last post and kick the OBL members to the curb then we can work together. As long as you side with dane, I mean bray we cannot.

Clear?

We need immigrants and we need more citizens or our social security system will collapse.

In other words, rather than try and find a permanent solution to the problem, let's see if we can keep the ponzi scheme going a bit longer?

I heard he got booed for the remarks.

Why can’t he see that we don’t worry aobut LEGAL immigration?

It’s the illegals and the lack of enforcing THE LAW that upsets us.

And the double standard that has emerged...they get preferential treatment and we get the stick!

Let's take your inanity point by point.....

1."Why the heck to you include your posse on a lot of posts to me? And why are you still posting to me when I've asked you many times to cease and desist?" -------------------------------------

I don't have a posse. There are many, many here who find your pro-illegal liberalism odious. I will post to you as long as you keep trotting out your drivel.

2."Why the heck do you continuously follow me around the forum and ping all your buddies?" -------------------------------------------

You flatter yourself, poor little victim. And, folks find your bs all by themselves, they don't need me. If I did have an 'anti-DCP' ping list it would include dozens.

3."Because you're a xenophobic hate-filled stalker who loves to stir up trouble, that's why." --------------------------------------------

Ah, the old race card trick from the DU handbook. There are well respected freepers of long standing who have met my family. They have told you in the past that the xenophope label is ludicrous, but like all self-described hopeless liberals you are free to continue tyring to sling it.

"You should be ashamed of yourself asking anyone how many rapes and murders are enough when arguing the merits or lack thereof of illegal immigrants." ----------------------------------------

Now we get to the nut. All you pro-illegal libs want nothing more than to pretend that murder, rape, assault, robbery, burglary, enforced prostitution, vehicular manslaughgter committed by illegals is not part of the equation. It is. In fact to the victims and their families (and Americans who value the safety of other Americans higher than a cheap cleaning service) it is all that counts. Ask any rape by an illegal victim if she would mind spending an extra quarter for a head of lettuce if it meant that she and her sisters would be safe from another illegal rapist.

I don't like you. For months your posts to many freepers were filled with name calling (nazi, racist, moron, thug, kkker, brown-shirts...). You stopped only recently after the powers that be called you a troll. Just about the same time your profile, the one wherein you described yourself as a hopeless liberal, magically vanished.

I don't like what you advocate.

I don't like your 'me-first, I've no time for crime victims' attitude. How many times have you responded to the question of crime by illegals with "YAWN"?

I think that you and your ilk are the enemy of conservative America.

Soldier'sDad...you and I were introduced by ConcreteBob. You know what I do for the troops and I know that I misunderstood your post's meaning the other day. That is why I addressed it the way I did.

Your last post is diametrically opposed to what you have previously posted. Especially when you kiss bray’s ass.

BS. I've never posted anywhere that I want to ignore this problem. I just think it is not going to be as easy to fix as some other do. All of your fixes are wonderful in principle. Let's see how well they work when implemented. Just as with the war in Iraq, all of the battle plans drawn up pre-war were brilliant. And the initial military operations went flawlessley. It was afterward, when those who supported Hussien and the terrorist who Hussien was harboring started the guirilla warfare that things become difficult. As with the war, this problem doesn't have any fixes that will be easy to solve. And, you cannot deny that many many of these illegal immigrants, while they broke the immigration laws when they came here, have provided benefits to this country in many many ways. Many have become tax payers and home owners. Yes, they need to be held accountable for coming here in the manner in which they did. Yes, they need to now follow our immigration laws and, if they want to be Americans, they need to follow procedure to do so. But, to expect that the government will be able to just easily, and without problems round up all those here illegally and deport them is a utopian vision that won't easily be accomplished. Do I think we should do nothing? No, and I've never stated that I did, to you are anyone else. But, I am against this irrational hatred and anger. That will not solve anything, and will only create greater problems. I, unlike you perhaps, do not see every single illegal immigrant as a threat in and of themselves. I, like you, want them held accountable, and either sent home if they are not willing to follow our laws and become American citizens, or pay a price in order to do so. I'm not "siding" with bray or anyone else on this issue in the manner in which you insinuate. I've not kissed anyone's @ss either, as you can see by the fact that I'm pinging bray and D.C. Patriot to this post. I don't like your tone and anger and hatred. I do want the problem solved in a rational and sensibly way. We do not differ on whether the problem needs to be fixed, just on your belief that it can be done simply and easily.

Why am I included in that? I’d readily pick up a gun and fight back the Mexican military trying to make an incursion into our border states.

"I am not inconvenienced by being prompted to choose English vs Spanish. It's a temporary solution to assist new future citizens."

It will be temporary only if we stop the flood of illegals and demand they learn English.

Unfortunately, we see our politicians, and our government, racing to pander to hispanics in their language. I'll bet your Italian ancestors didn't get taxpayer-funded education, ballots, and other services in Italian.

I wish to make it clear to anyone who cares to know, I’m not a liberal. I do not want illegal immigration to continue. I do not want illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes to be in our country. I want those who are deported. I want our borders secure. If that means building a fence, then so be it. I want any nation that purposely sends their criminals to this country held accountable. I want our government to do their job. I want those here illegally for economic reasons to be held accountable and to be made to follow our laws in becoming an American citizen. I want English to be our national language (but I also wish to repect the cultural heritage of others without the multicultural BS being pushed by liberals). My only point in any post on this topic is to the fact that all of what I want to happen is not easily or simply accomplished. The problem didn’t sprout up overnight, and will not be fixed overnight. It will take courage from the politicians in this country (something which is sorely lacking these days - and much of the reason I believe this problem has no simple or easy or quick fix). I’m not sure where exactly those here who constantly insult and berrate me are in disagreement with my on my thoughts. But, I’m tired of being accused of things I am not, or told I’ve said things I have not.

You were included only because Eaker included you in his ranting post to me, and I wanted all that he posted to to know my mind. I do not want any misunderstandings on this thread from those who have been privy to these back and forth exchanges. I meant no offense to you in that post, and if you would rather I will no longer include you in further posts.

I’m not into dialogue with people who just take my side. I’m also not into dialogue with people who only wish to hurl insults, make accusations, and can only show hatred and anger in discussing a very complicted issue. As posted elsewhere, I’m not for illegal immigration in any way. I also am paying the financial costs for the services that illegals are getting for free while my costs skyrocket. I want the problem solved, but I’m not going to lower my self to the hatefilled rhetoric that some on this thread have used. You think the problem has an easy fix. I do not. The problem does not exist in a vacuum, and requires the politicians of this country to show backbone and courage (which too many do not). You want all illegal immigrants who commit violent crime to be deported, and so do I. You believe that all illegals are worthless and do not contribute to this country. I do not. I want them to follow our laws and go through the process of becoming legal if they are to stay here. If they do not follow our laws and do the right thing, then I want them to leave our country. How exactly is that different from what you want?
