Solzhenitsin slams West policy towards Russia
Voice of Russia ^ | 25.07.2007 | Voice of Russia

Posted on 07/26/2007 5:43:10 AM PDT by JohnA

In an interview with German Der Spiegel magazine, famous Russian writer and the Nobel laureate Alexander Solzhenitsyn, has accused the West of trying to ignore and sideline Russia. He said that quite often western criticism is unfair. Russia is only starting to build democracy and it's all too easy to take it to task with a long list of omissions, violations and mistakes. Mr. Solzhenitsyn has reproached U.S for its inability to demonstrate goodwill for Mr. Putin`s friendly steps. In his opinion, only a psychological inadequacy or a disastrous shortsightedness can explain such approach. Alexander Solzhenitsyn praises Vladimir Putin for rebuilding the country.

“One other thing. The Ukraine is the breadbasket of Russia.
And traditionally, a part of the Russian Empire.”

Typical Russian Revisionism.

Kiev was known as the “City of a Thousand Churches” when Muscovites were living in a swamp.

What, in your view, was Putin's job with the KGB.

He helped the Stasi keep East Germany enslaved to the communist evil he served loyally all his life. They gave him a medal for his service.

If I have to choose between a giant like Solzhenitsyn and a pygmy like you, who do you think I will choose?

Putin is an autocrat. That doesn’t make him a friend of the West. Russia has more or less reverted to the Soviet period except now nationalism rather than Communism is the source of its aggressive designs on Europe and elsewhere. ==

Almost true. But you forgetting it was West who provoke Russian into this anti-westernism. Bombing Serbia started the path. Until that Russian approvement of USA was about as the Putin rate -70%. Now it is near 7 maybe.

Are you including the 20 million Ukrainians that the Kremlin Killed?==

20 mlns already? I heard few years ago was 3 mlns then 10. Now 20? How soon we will run out of all Ukranians?:)))

Even 3 mlns are much. But Kremlin was occupied in those times. By Soviets.

DO you know that Kiev Rus was founded by the dwellers of Novgorod? Novgorod is the most ancient town of Russia.

I will say it again. Ukraine has been a part of Russia for centuries. Peter the Great (to which you are refering) killed Russians AND every other nationality within the Empire, building St. Petersburg.

Get over it.

Kiev was also a part of RUSSIA. And had been a part of it since Peter the Great in the 17th Century.

Again, GET OVER IT.

Why do Russophile Trolls on FR pick the most outlandish Americanized names.

Can I pretend I’m out of KGB school and pick one too?

DO you know that Kiev Rus was founded by the dwellers of Novgorod?

To be more precise, Oleg of Novgorod captured Kiev and moved the capital of Rus from Novgorod to there. Hence, Kievan Rus. Do you know that there's a very plausible theory out there that Kiev was founded by Khazars?

Where is your usual mantra about Freepers lacking facts? The fact is that Purin worked with the Stasi and they gave him a medal. You have a hard time dealing with facts, tovarisch.

Boy - I really want to believe it but going over your posts - I dont know. No posts about whitetail, barbq, football but lots of stuff that implies a Russian Orthodox xenophobe who’s first loyalty is not the Republic of Texas.

FYI - why is that most Russian Orthodox priests in this country are indoctrinated in anti US propaganda like “America committed genocide against the indians” and “the US was bulit on slavery”. The last time I got this at a wake, I told “father” to go to Russia where they only killed 100 million in the last century.
