Listened to over 10 minutes of the video. The quiet whispering by the holy spirit told me the LDS is the wrong one.

Resty I understand where you are coming from. I used to be YOU. I knew all the come backs to church opposition. I even was responsible to getting 7 members to join. I have a great testimony of what led me to leave the church. I had been a convert also. I raised two of my children in the church. One was an adult before ever attending a non lds church.

I sat for 20 of my adult years in sacrament listening to speakers and testimonies of how they believe the church is true, the prophet is true, the BOM is true, and so forth. Next time you go to church on fast Sunday see how many times Jesus or God are mentioned compared to LDS related mentions.

I was raised Catholic. The church told me it was wrong. That 'set' prayers were wrong. Prayers have to come from the heart and not be repetition. How many times I lost count that some poor boy messed up on the sacrament prayer and we all sat when he tried again and again to get it right. How many times I sat and listed to prayers and testimonies of many members that were almost word for word of others. The church may say set prayers are wrong as the kind Catholics use but they have their own guidelines or outlines for prayers and testimonies.

For me prayers are very private. That is my one on one time with God. He has been there so many times for me no matter the name of the church.

Yes the BOM is going to be spiritual in nature since much of the spiritual part is straight from the bible. I had a big problem with that when I decided to leave the church. I got my BOM out and went throught the passages I had highlighted. Those same ones were found in the Bible too. So in a sense yes things in the bom will bring those whispering of the spirit but that same spirit will also whisper when reading the same passages in the Bible.

The LDS church will continue to be attacked. They kept very good records of their past. Now the church wants to only show what will be positive to the church. They want to ignore or make excuses for things former prophets of the church said. If they were true prophets their words would stand today the same as a hundred years ago.

For supposing to be the ONE TRUE CHURCH that had to be started back up on Earth because all other churches were wrong it has made some big changes over the years in their doctrines that were supposed to be from God. I don't think God would change his stance on those issues in such a small amount of time.

Hope this all comes out readable because if I proof read it I will probably not post it for spelling and stuff.

Just another confirmation........IMO.

I would be interested in your testimony...about leaving Mormonism.

It was find thank you for sharing your story and I do believe the Lord does watches over us no matter what church we attend.

You know my testimony so there is no need to repeat it. There have been many years I been able to attend regularly and because of health issues I have not been able to attend as I wish I could, but things are changing and looking better for me and I anxiously look ward to be there.

I love reading the scriptures and my eyes have been causing me frustration because as I read the print the eyes fight with one another so I have to stop for now and it has cause me some set backs.

Thanks again for sharing and my best to you IJM.

That has been my experience also. And the hymns that were sung were, "Praise to the Man", "Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel" "We Thank Thee, O God, For a Prophet" and always, "Come, Come Ye Saints", meaning the Latter Day Saints.

The real sticking point for me, and one that kept me away from family funerals, is the practice of NOT speaking from the pulpit of the deceased and his life, but of using the occasion to proselytize. 45 minutes of non-stop sales talk.

After hearing such things as "Sam would have been a better man if he had just joined the LDS church so that he could be reunited with his family for eternity", and one in particluar about my uncle who was a fine man, respected by all in his community: "He finally realized his error and joined the church late in life," more than one of my family members walked out fuming.

What a message for the family in their time of grief!
