SILVERDALE — A college student was arrested Sunday in the slashing of 42 tires on 13 government vehicles in an Army recruiting office parking lot, saying he was angry about the war in Iraq, authorities said.

Following a number of calls about a man wearing black and slashing tires, two deputies stopped a 19-year-old college student from Colorado as he tried to run from the lot shortly after midnight Sunday, a Kitsap County sheriff's office report said

Those are public vehicles. He can pay us back by writing a check and spend 6 months in jail.

Those Marines are voluntarily serving their country. Why should they be forced to associate with this POS hippie boy?

Why punish soldiers for the act of a cowardly moron.

A little something AP left out:

"The 19-year-old said he would have slashed the tires, sober or not. He also said if he was in Iraq he would kill everyone fighting on the American side, adding that he believed the actions of the government were "unjust and wrong."

I was once young and stupid and I had a great of affection for beer, before I was old enough to drink it legally.

When I got picked up for public intoxication and having a 6-pack of beer in my possession, I was introduced to the jail in Knoxville, TN in much the same way. That is where I got the "college boy" line. I was a little punk. I deserved it.

A few years later, I was in the Army. I turned out OK. I hope this little punk does the same.

As for turning him over to the NCO's... I have too much respect and love for the NCO Corps than to do that to them.

Sounds like a pretty tough young feller. Not. Tires don't fight back.

“Club Gitmo or Marine Corp basic training.”

I’d send him to Gitmo-he’s made a declaration of treason, plus he has intentionally destroyed US military property. Sounds like an enemy combatant to me!

We used to live near Silverdale. The Bangor Nuke Submarine Base is right there. Hundreds of good military folks in the area. Unfortunately, the county is rapid socialists and they voted for Gore in the election. The military folks stationed there all voted in their home states. We could have used their votes, but didn’t. This is not a surprise. NONE at all. WA state has tons of military bases. Bangor, the Bremerton Naval Ship Yard, Fort Lewis, McCord AFB, Naval Station Widbey Island, Naval Station at Everett, AFB over in Spokane. But, these rapid socialist’s hate the military. They just want those federal dollars that come from the military being there, and that money the military folks spend. We left that crap hole and came back to the sunny south.

If anyone can turn this idiot into a productive member of society, it’s the Marines. I also see your point about polluting the others. Club Gitmo is still open...

The NCO Corps would enjoy every nuance!

And unless the entire DOD world has changed, it would be a welcome diversion, and butterbars everywhere would applaud!

What IS it with angry leftoids and car tires?

This was a two-fer bonus for this angry lefty. He got to trash the evil, polluting vehicles that cause wars for oil, and the military as well.

He'll be famous in Seattle after he gets out.
