Thank God they are safe. I always joke I’m a cat, I’ve used up a few lives myself. It’s amazing how God’s hand is on our lives, always.

Since I first saw the pictures, I’ve been praying for the people still in the water. Right now, as we read, there are people struggling for their lives.

“The Pinheads at DU are already trying to pin this on GWB and Tim Pawlenty”

I was there for about five minutes and I could not believe what I was reading.

Sure they were. I’m sure many already have the video recorders working and probably have a few assistants working the hospital waiting rooms.

That said. If there was a hole and if they allowed cars onto the bridge, then even a dumb lawyer shouldn’t have too much trouble concocting a case.

The Pinheads at DU are already trying to pin this on GWB and Tim Pawlenty.

It wouldn't surprise me if Shep followed suit - he continually whined about how the federal government needed to do something for New Orleans after Katrina. Freakin' commie!

Isn’t Fairview and the University Hospital the same? Or are they just very near to each other? I think Fairview is on the St. Paul campus if I remember correctly.

My daughter and her husband work at Fairview. She called me right after this happened to assure me she was okay. She was on her way to her book club but thought she may be called into work.

My son must have heard about the bridge collapse while at work and tried to call her on her cell right after I got off the phone with her and could not get through. So if you are trying to contact family/friends in the area and do not receive an answer do not panic. The phone lines are just jammed I believe.

I wonder if the department of transportation in that area had traffic cameras looking at that bridge.

Be interesting if they'd recorded the collapse.

A new al Qaeda propaganda ad, headlined “Wait for the Big Surprise” and featuring a digitally altered photograph of President George Bush and Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf standing in front of a burning White House, was posted on the Internet today.

The brief clip from al Qaeda’s “as Sahab” propaganda arm juxtaposes the doctored photo of Bush and Musharraf along with previously seen images of al Qaeda’s top leadership — Osama bin Laden, Ayman al Zawahri and Adam Gadahn — as well as a photo of an SUV in a motorcade.

There is no additional information provided in the ad, and it closes with the words, “Soon — God willing,” written across the screen and repeated several times.

Shep is in “Drama Queen” mode.

What a horrible thing - I remember the Silver Bridge collapse when I was a kid - it really affected me. To this day, it scares me to death to drive across a bridge.

Prayers going up for everyone.

There was a schoolbus on the bridge when it collapsed. The kids on board are OK, thankfully.
