CONCORD, N.H. - French President Nicolas Sarkozy lost his temper with two American news photographers covering his vacation Sunday, jumping onto their boat and scolding them loudly in French. ADVERTISEMENT
The confrontation came Sunday afternoon as Sarkozy and companions were headed for open water in a boat on Lake Winnipesaukee when he spotted Associated Press photographer Jim Cole and freelancer Vince DeWitt aboard Cole's boat, which was outside a buoy barrier monitored by the New Hampshire Marine Patrol.
Before Sarkozy spotted him, Cole had driven his boat up to the patrol boat, identified himself and received permission to be there.

Why can’t you say what you think?
I don’t see the big deal here. Are you implying Sarkozy is anti-American because the journalists happened to have been American?
To: Flavius
Welcome to U.S. mainstream media. Be sure to smile as you cuss them out.
(and when you’re finished launching a blue streak at them, sneer and say “Pardon my French”.)

I thought Sarkozy spoke English well. Either I’m mistaken or he’s making fools of the photographers.

These were AP reporters ~ not really people as they are known in RL.
I hope the French President used the right words.

I’m fluent in multiple languages, but when you are really annoyed, trust me, you tend to revert to your native language.
It’s like Baron von Steuben. He was more comfortable cursing at Continental soldiers in German. He would then have an aide translate into English for the benefit of the army.

I wish he would have told the dumb asses to go to hell and get out of his space. They have no right to invade his privacy. They are out of control.

The American MSM is trying to portray Sarko as some right wing nut case with a bad temper.
Sarko is on vacation in NH with his wife, and their 10 year old son. He gave a news conference with photo ops on Sunday morning, and then asked the Press to go back to covering the real news, and allow his family some privacy on their holiday.
If you read the story in context, you can see that.
"Hours earlier, Sarkozy had spoken to reporters and said in French, "I am naturally ready to answer all your questions, and maybe afterward you will resume covering the news and other topics, and leave me tranquilly with my family." An AP reporter taped Sarkozy's remarks and had them translated, but the photographers did not hear the translation until after the altercation".
SARKO TRIES TO SIGNAL PHOTOGRAPHERS TO STOP INVADING HIS PRIVACY ON VACATION. WHEN THEY WOULDN'T, HE JUMPED INTO THEIR BOAT
Sound familiar? Don't mess with Texas, and don't mess with this guy.

Well done, Mr President!
Next time this kind of thing happens, don’t hesitate to use a baseball bat or some other suitable weapon.
Most medias are enemies of the values we Conservatives represent.
To: Cincinna
I think the reporters were too aggressive and there was a misunderstanding due to the language barrier BUT - I think Sarko is guilty of poor judgement here - I think the situation could have been handled better. My $.02.
To: Flavius
Reporters — have become nothing more than feral dogs looking for the next story...or if there is no story create one. Then the “journalistas” can blab incessantly about the non story.
