Vick is accused of paying “approximately $34,000” for property located in Smithfield, Va. to train, breed, and house pit-bulls for dogfighting, and engage in dogfighting events with others.
The charges contain multiple allegations of abuse against animals, including that Vick and two co-defendants “executed approximately 8 dogs that did not perform well.” The executions were allegedly carried out in a variety of brutal ways, including “hanging, drowning, and slamming at least one dog’s body to the ground.”

Cock Fighting is LEGAL in New Mexico, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Would you people be as outraged about Vick if his animals were chickens instead of Dogs? I’d like to believe FreeRepublic is a place where people use their heads more than their hearts.

I find sadistic entertainment with animals as just another extension of the culture of death crowd. There was NO reason for Vick to engage in this. None. He had it all. It wasn’t enough. The problem with Vick is his soul is troubled. No amount of $$$, women or death dog fights will satisfy him ... he’s in self destruct mode.

Don’t misunderstand me. I value human life over animal life - no “buts” about it.
People have little value for HUMAN life and that is extending to ANIAML life as entertainment no less. It’s a domino effect, as I see it. Look at Terry S. - euthanized her by starving her to death - so wrong on so many levels ... so seeing animals breed to be killers and fight to the death just follows.
Death as entertainment sickens me. Abortions sicken me. I DO favor capital punishment when GUILTY beyond any reasonable doubt - and I don’t equate INNOCENT life as in abortion with that. I draw the line on punishment of the GUILTY.
What’s worse is folks claiming to be “christians” will give you this nonsensical crap about “sin is sin” and they piously homogenize all sin no matter how grievous. No, it is SIN that SEPARATES us from God however the degrees of punishment are clearly different - if those empty headed hypocrites would crack open their Bible and read what God stated to the Jews on punishment - under His theocracy.

That’s usually due to a state or city law not a federal law. It’s also a civil seizure rather than part of the criminal charges. The way it works when they seize the property you have to sue in civil court to get it back even if you aren’t charged in criminal court. The burden is very different. In criminal court they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt and in most states get a unanimous verdict. In civil court all the state needs to do is get 50% of the jurors +1 and you lose.

I say get about a dozen pit bulls, let them get a little hungry and mean, perhaps some of the dogs Vic didn't kill, and throw him into a ring with them and lock the door.
Just so he can get a feel for it.
And hey, if he survives, then send whats left of him to prison, for a very long time. We don't need his kind being any kind of figure for the kids in this country.

Yep, I’ve had a whole lot of pets I loved. Last month I had one of my most beautiful coral beauty dwarf angles jump out of the tank and dry up on the floor while I was out. It really had me down; lucky for me the pet store had another one on sale for $40.
I view pets the same as property. I really loved my RC51 race-bike until I crashed it on the road-course this last weekend. Not a good feeling at all seeing it all wadded up.
I guess the difference is I have a few children who are human beings and not property like pets or objects are.
Imagining animals have human like properties is a hazardous path fraught with a slippery slope straight down which ends with you voting for a Democrat! hahaha - that was humor on my part.

Granted, a thoroughbred race horse may, or may not race again as well as he did, but that doesn't mean you have to kill it.
The only reason to do so would be that the poor dumb bastard that put the animal in the position that injured it, would not be willing to take the time and effort to do so, because they think of it as only property.

No one that thinks like this could love anything, and dear God, I pray he never had a pet. I'm not even sure this one's for real. Can't imagine anyone being this calloused. Vick isn't the only one that's sick IMO.
