And,sad to say,way too many blacks want to “give a brother a pass” on the Vick case and thats truly pathetic.
We had the same dividing lines here in my town with the murder of Chauncey Bailey by thugs affilated with the Black Muslim Bakery. The elder, now deceased, owner of the store and other enterprises was a serial child rapist and molester.
Yet you still heard the same old mantra,”the white man does the SAME thing and you never say nothing about THAT”.
My answer to that one is very simple,”But the white man is the DEVIL.What else can you expect from HIM?I thought Muslims had higher standards”.
That makes the room go silent for a while.

Vicks downfall was all because of a dog. A drug dog. Pretty ironic....

It’s always amazing how people find Jesus when their finances and careers are threatened....

Well, that's why Jesus himself said it was easier for a camel to do the needle routine, than than for a smug, all self-sufficient rich guy to go to heaven.

“Immature is giving a dog some beer to see it walking funny, walking into walls, etc. Electrocuting dogs, etc. is EVIL.”

True. And... immature people who do these kinds of things to animals grow up to be serial killers. This guy’s a bad seed and that’s not something people grow out of.

He's still on the team!

WTF!

If I heard correctly, the only way the Falcons can go after the bonus money they threw at him is if he is on the roster.

Probably on the "Unable to perform" so they don't lose a spot for the active players.

What about Hitler?

Yes. Hitler, the human with a soul was more important than a dog. Which is why Hitler will be punished for eternity, and dogs have no eternity.

You judge Michael Vick? Be careful. I don’t know Michael Vick, but I know my own sins.

It was way too fast. It was like he was reading from a book on how to con the press. He should have expressed contrition now, and then come out with the “Found Jesus” rhetoric when it was time for his comeback.

"I found Jesus" Religion: The opiate of criminals, too.

My dad has worked in corrections for almost 40 years. He says, only half-joking, that Jesus must be in prison, because everyone there finds him, and as soon as they get back out they lose him again.

I would have found Vick's mea culpa more credible if he hadn't invoked Jesus. It's too easy. Too cheap. It's like he's working out his argument to the parole board before he even goes in. II's a transparent ploy

But forget abut me and my dad, Ask Chuck Colson. He knows more than i about repentance and conversion, and how to tell the real fro the fake,.

If you care more about your pet than you do Michael Vick, for all his flaws, then, yes, that is sick.

In general, yes, I value human life above animals. However, some people's actions have made them worthy of less consideration.

Boortz this morning on radio said an Atlanta public school teacher, during the moment of silence told her class to pray for Michael Vick. I wonder if she also told them to pray for our troops and our President.

Christianity is exactly made for someone in his situation. If he's sorry, he's sorry. There is no reason to doubt that.

Indeed.

Matt 7:2-5 "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged [if we judge with an evil heart or dark intent, His judgment of us will reflect it; if we judge nobly and honestly, His judgment of us will reflect that, too], and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you [if we use extremes or exaggerations or other unfair means, our judgment will reflect it]. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye [point out his sins, "minor" in Jesus' example here] and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye [our own sins, even and especially those we will not admit, magnified by our selective blindness]? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' [tell him of his "minor" sins] when all the time there is a plank in your own eye [that there are greater or the same sins in our own lives which we do nothing about or think we are above]? You hypocrite* [pointing out the sins of others while by pretense we think of ourselves as above sin], first take the plank out of your own eye [sincerely ask the Lord for forgiveness and learn and live the Truth and Light by His Word], and then you will see clearly [be in a righteous position] to remove the speck from your brother's eye [to judge and to help him out of his bondage to sin]." At Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan, Jesus was talking to the multitudes gathered there after hearing of His message and of His healings to beseech them to not become like the pharisees and hypocrites who think they are above sin.

But you seem intent on calling out the “good guys”, simply to make your Biblical point that animals are just that, and somehow not worthy of being the cause of the moral indignation so many are feeling towards Vick.

The Bible says we are to treat animals with kindness

The righteous man careth for the life of his beast (Pr.12:10).

So, this use of PETA by so-called conservatives who are just indifferent to animal suffering, is a straw man.

As for appeals to showing Vick mercy, the Bible is also clear on that,

For he shall have judgement without mercy who hath shewed no mercy' (Ja.2:13)

Don't ask for mercy if you haven't given it.

From Peter King at CNN/SI http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/peter_king/08/26/mmqb/2.html

The contract, dated Dec. 24, 2004, has a signing bonus of $7.5 million included, plus roster bonuses of $22.5 million in 2005 and $7 million in 2006. That $29.5 million, I believe, is not retrievable, even if the Falcons claim either that it’s just another way to pay bonus money or it was later converted to a signing bonus in what would simply have been an accounting move. Here it is, in black and white, on the Player Contract Information Form on file with the league. “Roster Bonus.’’ And Vick was on the roster, of course, in both of those years. I think they’re out of luck.

If there is anyone on this board who has not sinned, let him cast the first stone.

Since Christ was referring to those who might have sinned through adultery by thought word and deed when he admonished the crowd with the words "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," at the prostitute; I have never been to, thought about going to or even remotely wanted to attend a dog fight much less run a dog fighting kennel.

Stone #1: Michael Vick is a low-life scumbag.

Stone #2: Michael Vick deserves to be banned from the NFL for life.

Even if he "goes and sins no more."

How are those stones?

Is it EVIL to electrocute people?

Yes, if they haven't committed any crime.

Is it EVIL to kill a cow by hitting it in the head really hard and then hacking it up for food?

No, because you are not torturing it by making it fight for survival first.

Animals that are killed for food should be killed as humanly as possible, not hung and then drowned when they haven't died.

Stop making excuses for cruelty.
