The Birth of al Qaedastan

In the year 2016, the world may find itself gloomily marking September 6 as the tenth anniversary of the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Waziristan. The Emirate received de facto recognition when the Taliban used the name on the ceasefire agreement they signed with Pakistan on that day in 2006. If things go terribly wrong in the coming decade, they could come to rule a mountainous fragment of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Analysts say the rise of a terrorist state straddling the rugged area between Pakistan and Afghanistan is now viable. The reason is a number of troubling trends. One, the revival of a Taliban firmly in the control of Al Qaeda. Two, the seeming inability of either Kabul or Islamabad to defeat the new threat militarily. “There are clear indications that at a minimum Ramstein and the Frankfurt airport were possible targets and that they would not have waited long to strike,” leading conservative politician Wolfgang Bosbach told German television station N24.

He said the plot may have been timed to coincide with the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “German and U.S. officials have warned of the possibility of a terrorist attack, and security measures have been increased. Navy Capt. Jeff Gradeck, spokesman for the U.S. military’s European Command in Stuttgart, said German authorities had contacted them concerning the alleged plot, but had no further information.

“We extend our gratitude to Germany for their efforts in protecting us,” Gradeck said.

The group had been under observation by authorities for many months and all three men are considered radical Islamists with contacts to terror cells abroad, Der Spiegel reported online.

Authorities decided to move in on the group after members were observed moving a stock of chemicals easily obtainable in Germany, but which can be used for making a bomb, from a storehouse to another, Der Spiegel said.”

16 suspected car-bomb cell members captured during Operation Nijmegen III

KALSU, Iraq – A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device cell, with suspected links to al-Qaeda, believed to be responsible for attacks against citizens and security forces of North Babil, was the target of an early morning air assault and raid north of Diyarah Aug. 23.

Paratroopers from Company C, 3rd Battalion, 509th Airborne, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, captured 16 Sunni militants, believed to be members of al-Qaeda in Iraq during Operation Nijmegen III. “Nijmegen was a series of operations targeting a known suicide car bombing cell,” said 1st Sgt Karl Zaglauer, a native of Missoula, Mont. “This cell is most famous in our area for the checkpoint 20 bombing that destroyed a bridge.”

Operation Nijmegen III had a special significance to the Paratroopers of Company C.

“Two days ago, my platoon was hit with a VBIED,” said Sgt. 1st Class David Chaney, from Columbus, Ga. “That incident has possible links to the guys we just captured.”

In addition to the extremists, the Paratroopers also captured propaganda and books on electronics and chemistry.

The cell members are being held for further questioning.

The propaganda and other materials were confiscated for use in the investigation.

“There are still terrorists here,” Chaney said. “But, we are making it very hard for them to continue staging attacks.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The suspects, two Germans and a Turkish national, are alleged members of a local cell of the Islamist terrorist organization Jihad Union, Harms told reporters today in the southern city of Karlsruhe.

``Today is a good day for German security,’’ Harms said.

The alleged terrorists planned attacks on sites frequented by U.S. citizens among others, including discos, bars and transport facilities, Harms said. The peroxide-based liquid explosives were equivalent to 550 kilograms of TNT, greater explosive power than in the London bombings of July 2005, Joerg Ziercke, head of the Federal Criminal Office, told the same press conference.

The arrest of the alleged bombers took place yesterday after police raids on 41 sites across the country. Those arrested represented the ``core’’ of a group that includes further suspects, Ziercke said.”

$4.5 billion options bet on catastrophe within four weeks

ANYBODY HAVE A CLUE, AS TO WHAT, THESE “INVESTORS” ARE EXPECTING?

The two sales are being referred to by market traders as “bin Laden trades” because only an event on the scale of 9-11 could make these short-sell options valuable.

There are 65,000 contracts @ $750.00 for the SPX 700 calls for open interest. That controls 6.5 million shares at $750 = $4.5 Billion. Not a single trade. But quite a bit of $$ on a contract that is 700 points away from current value. No one would buy that deep “in the money” calls. No reason to. So if they were sold looks like someone betting on massive dislocation. Lots of very strange option activity that I haven’t seen before.

The entity or individual offering these sales can only make money if the market drops 30%-50% within the next four weeks. If the market does not drop, the entity or individual involved stands to lose over $1 billion just for engaging in these contracts! Clearly, someone knows something big is going to happen BEFORE the options expire on Sept. 21.
THEORIES:

The following theories are being discussed widely within the stock and options markets today regarding the enormous and very unusual activity reported above and two stories below. Those theories are:

1) A massive terrorist attack is going to take place before Sept. 21 to tank the markets, OR;

2) China, reeling over losing $10 Billion in bad loans to the sub-prime mortgage collapse presently taking place, is going to dump US currency and tank all of Capitalism with a Communist financial revolution. Either scenario is bad and the clock is ticking. The drop-dead date of these contracts is September 21. Whatever is going to happen MUST take place between now and then or the folks involved in these contracts will lose over $1 billion for having engaged in this activity.

“$1.78 Billion Bet that Stock Markets will crash by third week in September Anonymous Stock Trader Sells 10K Contracts on EVERY S&P/Y “Strike” Shorts Stocks “in the money” effectively selling all his SPY holdings for cash up front without pressuring the market downward.

This is an enormous and dangerous stock option activity. If it goes right, the guy makes about $2 Billion. If he’s wrong, his out of pocket costs for buying these options will exceed $700 Million!!! The entity who sold these contracts can only make money if the stock market totally crashes by the third week in September.

Bear in mind that the last time anyone conducted such large and unusual stock option trades (like this one) was in the weeks before the attacks of September 11. Back then, they bought huge numbers of PUTS on airline stocks in the same airlines whose planes were involved in the September 11 attacks.

Despite knowing who made these trades, the Securities and Exchange Commission NEVER revealed who made the unusual trades and no one was ever publicly identified as being responsible for the trades which made upwards of $50 million when the attacks happened.

The fact that this latest activity by a single entity gambles on a complete collapse of the entire market by the third week in September, seems to indicate someone knows something really huge is in the works and they intend to profit almost $2 Billion within the next four weeks from whatever happens! This is really worrisome.”

“This would have enabled them to make bombs with more explosive power than the ones used in the London and Madrid bombings,” Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany’s Federal Crime Office, said at a joint news conference with Harms.

The three suspects - two Germans and a Turk - first came to the attention of authorities because they had been observing a U.S. military facility at the end of 2006, officials said. All three had undergone training at camps in Pakistan run by the Islamic Jihad Union, and had formed a German cell of the group.

The Islamic Jihad Union was described as a Sunni Muslim group based in Central Asia that was an offshoot of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, an extremist group with origins in that country.

A top legislator said an attack could have occurred “in a few days,” noting a “sensitive period” that includes the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.”

The thread on the Japanese put options was on ticker.org, but the thread was overrun by 911 conspiracy theorists (truthers) and deleted by the mods.

I have no idea what, if anything, these “bets” mean. It could possibly be completely unrelated to terror activities as the world markets have been extremely unstable as of late. There are a number of theories posted all over the net about various agencies or governments using this type of market activity to move large amounts of money as loans or gifts without having to pay taxes or to do an end run around financial legislation.

Coalition forces grab high-value IRGC-QF affiliate

BAGHDAD, Iraq – During a pre-dawn raid in Karbala Wednesday, Coalition forces captured a highly-sought individual suspected of being an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF) affiliate.

Coalition forces also detained another individual for questioning.

The detained individual is suspected of coordinating with high-level IRGC-QF officers for the transportation of multiple Iraqis to Iran for terrorist training at IRGC-QF training camps. He is also a known logistics facilitator providing lethal aid to terrorists operating in central Baghdad. It is likely that the affiliate is closely linked to individuals at the highest levels of the IRGC-QF. Coalition forces are still assessing his possible connection to the Special Groups.

Intelligence derived from other security detainees led Coalition forces to the residence of the individual. Ground troops confiscated computer equipment, communication devices, miscellaneous documents and photographs. It is believed that the captured documents may lead to information on other IRGC-QF illicit activities intended to disrupt security operations in Iraq. There were no Iraqi or Coalition forces casualties during the precision raid.

“As Iran continues its proxy war against the people of Iraq, Coalition forces will continue to build on recent operations to disrupt the flow of illicit, lethal materials from Iran into Iraq,” said Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, MNF-I spokeman. “The capture of individuals affiliated with the IRGC-Quds Force is an integral part of dismantling terror networks that seek to kill innocent Iraqis and security forces.”
