"
Mr. Kouchner climbed down on his earlier statement that the world should prepare for war in Iran. The worst thing to happen would be a war, and in order to avoid it, we need to talk, talk and talk, he said,..."
Why? ...because our US Government talked him into revising his statement.
U.S. in no rush to attack Iran -- for now

Russia has sold a lot of stuff to Iran, and Iran hasn’t paid up yet.
That and they do not like that the US and the EU have pretty much surrounded Russia’s southern borders.

The worst thing to happen would be a war, and in order to avoid it, we need to talk, talk and talk, he said,...Cyphered, "we need time to get our ducks in a row and hopefully when Iran is put to rest for the sake of humanity, we will be maybe as strong as the U.S. by then and tote some weight and be a part of it and take our chunk when it happens and have a say in post war".

Its hard to imagine what that could do to the region where there are already grave problems in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yea, its a grave problem that Iraq and Afghanistan are free to elect their own governments.

Of course they are warning against it. The “former” Soviet Union hasn’t changed a bit. Or if they did change, they have changed back with a vengeance! So much for the so-called peace dividend...

Great strategy. I wonder we havent tried that before.

I’m leaning toward dragging the Russians by their Lenin chin hairs out of the consulates in Chicago and San Francisco, burning the buildings to the ground and then blaming the Russians for global warming.
If someone has a better idea to deal with these commies, I’m all ears...

Russia is being bought off the same way Saddam Hussein bought off the United Nations with the oil for food scandal. These Arabs have this tactic down to an art. This time Iran will really get their nukes before anyone has the courage to do anything about it. As with Iran as with Iraq, those clandestine nuke programs had one purpose: The nuclear weapons were being built to be used against the United States. Someday we will be faced with the economic consequences of a nuclear detonation in a large U.S. city.
