Where are all the Ron Paul people coming from?
The Oregon Poll ^ | 9-20-7

Posted on 09/20/2007 6:40:58 PM PDT by Petronski

Over the last two days The Oregon Poll was seen by almost 400 "unique visitors," most of them in support of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. The majority of these people came from these two links on the web.

Last thing I'll say about it. Tonight at the Palmetto Family Council Straw Poll in SC (tickets to vote $50)

A few seconds before he walked to the podium, Sarah Huckabee put her arm around her father and wished him good luck.

It must have worked.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee won the Palmetto Family Council Straw Poll Thursday night - a sign that he may be gaining a foothold amongst the conservative right of the state's Republican Party.

Huckabee got 206 of the 539 votes cast. He edged U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who got 179, but had a very vocal support group. They waved banners and wore stickers. Cheered their candidate when he spoke via telephone to the crowd. One man walked across the convention floor filming them.

Former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., had 43 votes to finish third. He was followed by U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., with 29; U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif, with 25; former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 14; North Carolina businessman Daniel Gilbert had 12; U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., with 10; Hugh Cort, an Alabama doctor, with seven, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani with five.

Palmetto Family Council Straw Poll News

And for the record according to their website

Sam Brownback – present
John Cox – present
Hugh Cort - present
Daniel Gilbert - present
Duncan Hunter – present
Mike Huckabee – present
John McCain – to pipe in by phone
Ron Paul – to pipe in by phone
Mitt Romney – sending surrogate and video
Tom Tancredo – to pipe in by phone
Fred Thompson – to pipe in by phone
Rudy Giuliani – against campaign policy to participate in straw polls (not attending)

Those who disagree with Rep. Paul's position should do so genuinely instead of pulling 'data' off a blog that is just a few weeks old if that.

Maybe we can avoid seeing 5 RP thread a day now.

More room for the OJ Simpson and Paris Hilton threads! (KIDDING!!! OK?)

Did I mention them? Nope.

There is a side of Paul supporters that are good conservatives that are so desperate for a return to pure Constitutionalism that they will chain their cart to whatever horse says the word more. I don’t qualify them with the nuts we are discussing, I just think they are blinded to the moderately conservative record of Paul’s. I believe Paul himself is playing all sides of the fence. Like his backdoor earmarks. He can talk all day against them to one group and to another submit those with a wink wink, knowing they will pass anyway.

I will not vote 3rd Party if Paul gets the nod.

I will still vote, but then after throwing up and taking a shower, I will head to my favorite gun shop and by them out of all the .40 and .223 ammo they have. I will probably need it since the “Pirates” will not stop the Muslims...

Because of his vote to defund our troops in combat, I am not sure I can, in conscious, ever vote for him. Even many of the dems wouldn’t make that leap.

This biting wit is the reason I like this forum.

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal. :-)

Honestly, some of this stuff writes itself. Who could have foreseen a Manilow/Stormfront nexus? If Barry knows, I'll bet he's mad enough to *pinch* someone!

Mid-American Nazis are an interesting varietal of the deranged and paranoid moonbat, and even I have to admit that paranoia can be really funny, like you Ron Paul supporters.

I can't see how your post was flame-worthy. I live in the Austin area. I see an increasing frequency of California plates here.

Hopefully most of them are the good ones.

If L.Ron Paul won the GOP nomination, I would write in the name “Jesus Christ,” because certainly He would be minutes from returning to us in Glory.

"I will probably need it since the “Pirates” will not stop the Muslims..."

Libertarianism is the kissing cousin of anarchy. There is a thin line between them, so watch your back internally too.

Oh, I see. Now it's the earmarks that Ron Paul submitted, then voted against. He's a hypocrite, then, and a "moderate conservative."

And these well-respected Jewish backers simply are unaware of Dr. Paul's checkered record? They would be backing a True Federalist like your candidate if it were known that Ron Paul leads a double life, pretending to be the Constitutionalist but, in reality, just a publicity seeker. He has Potomac Fever so bad he's delusional, you think?

Well, you can rationalize all you want, make up all the stories you want, connect dots all day and all night if you want. But you are never ever going to make a case for Ron Paul being either an anti-Semite or a Big Spender. The best you can come up with is calling him a "libertarian" running as a Republican, and for many of us that's a mark of distinction, not opprobrium.

“”Those who disagree with Rep. Paul’s position should do so genuinely instead of pulling ‘data’ off a blog that is just a few weeks old if that.”’

Read post 135 and go to their web site, because of the unique nature of Paul’s support we can’t cut and paste, so in this case you need to go look at our evidence for yourself.
