NITED NATIONS — In a sign that U.N. Security Council-based diplomacy is losing steam, a number of sources are reporting that a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities may be imminent. France and America also are pushing for tighter economic sanctions against Tehran, without U.N. approval.

Yesterday's edition of Le Canard Enchaîné, a French weekly known for its investigative journalism, reported details of an alleged Israeli-American plan to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. The frontpage headline read: "A report sent to the Elysée — Putin tells Tehran: They're going to bomb you!"

The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, also expressed concerns to reporters in New York that an attack on Iran might be imminent.

The proofs been out there for a number of years and we have done nothing to get to the source.

And, let's not forget that little ditty back in '79. Storming another country's embassy, taking hostages and holding them for 444 days are all acts of war. Iran should have been turned into a smokin' hole in the ground 28 years ago......

"Putin tells Tehran: They're going to bomb you!"

Then Pootie says "Come on, Stinky! Buy some more of our crappy air defense hardware. That way, Syria won't have to be all alone licking their wounds when our stuff doesn't give you any warning of approaching hostile American and Israeli aircraft that are about to bomb you into oblivion"

The raids on Dieppe and North Africa were training missions for the D-Day invasion.

It’s just possible that little raid in Syria was the same thing.

I believe that B2’s were involved in that.

“It’s been “said to be immiment” for a number of years now. I’ll believe it when it happens.”

I’d settle for attacking the U.N. for now ;)

It’s strange and hard getting used to the phrase...”America AND France”.

I like it!

The signs point to Iran being first, but I believe that Syria will be taking the big hit before Iran.

In my opinion military leaders talked their Syrian counterparts into taking the bulk of the WMD's from Saddam, left them holding the bag, so to speak.

Now the IAF has provided proof of the materials existence.

I also believe that some back door diplomatic negotiations are taking place right now to pressure Syria into turning on Iran.

Probably not, but maybe Ahmadinnnerjacket can get some warranty work - ala some intelligence reports or a heads up right before they fall so he and his cabinet can escape the bunker buster. That would be in Pootys best interests. I can't imagine he's all that excited about a nuclear Iran either.

The Israeli’s do not need us to pull off this mission. We ONLY tested material that the commando’s took from Syria prior to the raid and gave them the OK to do it. Russian radar and SAM equipment is cr$p. The Iraqi’s found that out and now the Syrians.

The moment it makes the news, it is a sign that there ISN’T a near term plan to do it.

The Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, also expressed concerns to reporters in New York that an attack on Iran might be imminent.

Like most stories in the French paper, the article was based on unnamed sources who said that in order to reduce casualties, the attack against Iran is planned for October 15, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Israel would bomb the first targets while America would orchestrate a second wave of strikes, the report said.
