Richard Viguerie, a conservative, who says the GOP abandoned conservative principles, is against Romney, Giuliani, Thompson and McCain.

This is his profile on Thompson:

One thing to keep in mind FPRPA, the Evangelical community is not led by any single figure, there is no “pope” nor spiritual guru to line everyone up and send them out to vote.

The things that line people up are social issues that have a common immoral theme that whichever candidate is in favor of implementing.

In 06 for example many stayed home due to the perception that the DC Republicans were corrupt and didn’t handle the Foley situation very well.

In 04, there were the gay marriage amendments, that got people to the polls, in the absence of such issues, Dobson etc can talk until they are blue in the face because it is a broken field with no single issue motivating a block voting behavour.

I think Fred will do well if an issue arises, if not, then Romeny will do “okay” and Rudy remains to be seen.

Dems have been pandering so much to homosexuals in their debates. And I think some states might be trying to pass some type of gay marriage/civil unions, but I’m not sure yet.

The Dhimmi debate for the homosexual lobby (..see gay mafia)..was simply soundbyte heaven to be sure.

However at this point in time, there isn’t anything to really rally serious Christians to a particular candidate, the third party candidate idea will be DOA.

If you are particularly interested in this topic, use Alta Vista and search for Dan Land, the Baptist Organization CEO, he has a good head for things political.

Did you know, by the way, that lobbying is specifically protected by the First Amendment?
