Heather Wilson voted for overriding the veto? She better shape up if she wants my vote for the US Senate.

About 18 votes short. The dems may have picked up 1 vote since they earlier passed SCHIP.

A sunk SCHIP.

Of course it is.

Nikki like Hillary like to jawbone about their “experience” — As far as I can tell, that means being married to a politician.

Hooray!

Niki only won by 5 pts in a heavy ‘rat district. Nice to see her get right into the groove, ignoring the 46% that voted for Ogonowski.

Can somebody here clarify if the veto’ed bill included illegals or not? I understand the 4 times poverty for NY was small, but adults using it and illegals were my objections. I’ve heard talking heads on both sides denying and confirming. Which was it?

In Texas, I know illegals are draining Medicaid and all get some form of free medical because nobody asks if they are legal or not. If they come, they get treatment. Also the 47 million uninsured figure that is out there is about 25% illegals and about 40% Americans that qualify for Medicaid, but choose not to apply. I also don't understand a program for poor kids being used for adults. There again, the money is there for Medicaid, why get SCHIP? The 400% waiver for NY is allegedly not there per Sen Grassley.

PS. I will oppose the next bill if they just talk money and don’t cut the illegals out. Lowering the money by 1 billion, while including adults and illegals is still a “no” vote from me. One compromise isn’t like any other compromise.

I noticed that too! What an increasing disappointment LaTourette has become. I sent him an e-mail back when he turned his back on the troops during the surge debate and I think I’ll send him another one soon! Maybe something along the lines of, “if you’re going to vote like Dennis Kucinich, I might as well move to the West Side!”

Remember these 156 who stood tall for Conservative values next time you hear the usual "The GOP is selling out the Conservative base" squealings.

It is not the House Republicans that sell us out - over and over it's been the Senate Republicans. The house members have to come home and face us every 2 years, so they're a lot more honest.

Trying to paint people's disgust with the GOP in negative tones by using inflammatory verbs is a lot like what the libs do. When they run out of real ideas and arguments, that's when the namecalling starts. Looks like you're no better and have no better arguments. Or don't want to take the time and intelligence to use them.

Including the only MD in the House, Denton County’s Dr. Michael Burgess.

Congressmen Tom Price and Phil Gingrey of Georgia are both M.D.s.
