Why Dr. Dobson's right (a Giuliani nomination would be a disaster)
World Net Daily ^ | October 23, 2007 | Jospeh Farah

And, if Giuliani should, by some twist of fate, win the presidency, it will mean the end of Reaganism. It will represent a turning point in the history of the Republican Party and our nation. It will mean the continued deaths of tens of millions unborn babies when we are closer than ever to defeating the abortion culture that Roe v. Wade initiated in 1973.

Should Giuliani succeed, it will represent the end of any hope for the Republican Party to serve as an alternative to the Democratic Party for millions of people like me and Dr. Dobson. That's bigger than two terms of Hillary Rodham Clinton. That's worse even than four or eight more years in the wilderness.

I actually believe it would be worse for America if Rudy Giuliani were elected president than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

If Hillary wins, the reaction to her predictable overreaching will be similar to what we experienced in 1994 – a "Republican revolution."

If Rudy wins, millions will simply defect from the Republican Party. If you want to see the rise of a third party, just be sure to nominate Giuliani and elect him as president.

The long-term consequences of a Giuliani victory are far worse than the consequences of a Clinton victory.

So let's avoid that dire choice now. There's still time to avoid such an unpleasant scenario. Let's just nominate a Republican the Republican base can support.

Your point is why I think Rudy wont be what people think he will be. Roe vs. Wade is bad law and certainly the Constitution does not protect abortion. If anything it protects the life of the baby. If Rudy appoints strict constructionists in the mold of Scalia and Thomas then we will be fine. If however he is actually Arnold, which I don’t think he is, we would be in big trouble.

So you are on record that killing the unborn is fine as long as one doesn’t also favor “dissolution of our national sovereignty, ... confiscation of private property and ... wanton, ruthless destruction of all dissenters on the Right”?

(The ellipses show where I’ve removed the word “the” from your original text)

My point is this: You, and others, may agree that Rudy’s support of abortion (and gun confiscation, and ...) are immaterial as long as he’s not Hillary, but trying to “shame” others who disagree on solid moral and pragmatic grounds is nonsensical.

Normy. Look at Daniel, Shadrak, Mishak and Abednigo; none disobeyed God or did wrong themselves to please the worldly leaders that God put in place. You misread the Book of Daniel, in my opinion, if you read it as saying that we should be passive and do nothing, leaving all in God's hands. I think that Daniel makes clear that we don't have to seek out martyrdom but that is a different issue. Daniel, Shadrak, Mishak, and Abednigo had very little power and no ability to force the authorities to do the right thing according to God's law. Even "keeping their heads down" they survived multiple execution attempts by the authorities. Their situation as transplants or hostages from Israel is very different from ours as American voters.

Your statement "the self righteous disgust me and Jesus" is unintentionally ironic.

If Hillary wins it could absolutely be judgment on America and judgment begins in the House of God. Do you think liberal, pro choice, atheists who desire a socialist utopia and a weak America would be judged by a Hillary Presidency or would Christians suffer more.

By the way, choosing a candidate is not a God given right. As a matter of fact in the history of mankind it rarely happened, even if in the kingdom of Israel.

It would seem very plausible that God could offer Rudy for his purpose to fight the war or protect Americas sovereignty but because religious Americans reject him, Hillary will be their judgment.

Did you ever consider that God wanted Bush to go into Iraq in the first gulf war but because he didn't we got a President who ignored Americas enemies and we were humiliated in the world and eventually ended up with 9-11? There is no way in hell Bill should have been President. Do we want to make the same mistake again? Apparently self righteous moralist who follow Dobson do.

For the record, I like Rudy but I would prefer Fred (really Hunter).

“. I’ll be fishing on voting day next year “

That would be mistake, even if you don’t vote for Jules, you and millions like yo will have to vote so we have a shot at winning back the House and holding ground in the Senate.

I would LOVE to know who in the heck is supporting Jules in the Republican Party, has anyone seen a poll on who supports this guy?

The King was deceived by his advisor's into making a law that no one should worship their own God. Daniel immediately began worshiping God. Because of his oath, the king had to throw Daniel into the lions den, however, this heathen king told Daniel "Your God will protect you!"

When God did protect Daniel, the king threw his advisor's and their families into the den and they were devoured before they hit the ground.

I do not know how my statement is ironic.

The GOP Primary will determine the presidential election.

Your analysis is premature.

However the fact of the matter is Giuliani has the same positions as H.Clintion.

Giuliani is Hillary.

Giuliani is essentially Hillary Clinton in the GOP Primary.

A Giuliani candidate turns the election into

Hillary Clinton D vs Hillary Clinton R

in that race Hillary Clinton D wins.

Hillary Clinton D can EASILY run to the right of Hillary Clinton R.

Giuliani comming out of th primaries as the nominee IS DEFEAT.

Giuliani is an unacceptable PRIMARY vote.

No Giuliani, NO PROBLEM.

Ya, that’s why I, my wife and my daughter have donated both time and very significant funds to Livingwell Crisis Pregnancy Clinic and other pro-life endeavors.

How ‘bout you?

remember “no new taxex”

remember “harriet meyers”

remember 8 liberal to 1 conservative NYC judicial appointments?

No Giuliani, NO PROBLEM.

The GOP primary IS going to determine the presidential election. A Giuliani nominee IS Defeat for the voters at large.

For the record, I like Rudy but I would prefer...

For the record, I lived in upstate NY during Rudy's term in NYC. I seriously dislike his policies, and seriously distrust his record in a number of areas. Being from Texas, you should check into Rudy's position on the second amendment.

I find much of your last post even more ironic. You have equated a Hillary win with God's judgment on America, have cast an eye toward reading God's mind regarding Rudy being his man for running the war on terror, and yet you deplore "self righteous moralist[s]".

Self righteousness, apparently, is also in the eye of the beholder.

No Rudy no way no how.

If being against abortion is self righteous count me in.

I would rather go down in flames and take the entire country down with me than become the enemy that I have been fighting for the last 30 years.

For the record, I hate Rudy. Almost as much as I hate Hillary. No, hate is not too strong a word. To me, they both embody the lack of respect for the Constitution that is destroying this country.

The only REAL difference I see in their voting records is Rudy's support for continued military action over seas. If he follows his liberal tenancies and signs on to the Democrat agenda, what will we be fighting over there for?

No... Rudy cannot win against Hillary. Too many in the South will just refuse to show up at the polls. We need someone like Thompson, Hunter, or heck... even Romney at this point... Rudy would be a sure-fire way to hand Hillary the Presidency.

You donate your time and treasure to pro-life causes, and your verbal talent to pro-abortion politicians. Very pragmatic.

Nonetheless, I do contribute time, energy and finances to pro-life causes which is meaningful, as opposed your mindless blather.

Ah, nice to see the unbelievable arrogance that some display. "It's all about me and my 'principles'". This kind of selfish attitude is disgusting. Face reality, if Rudy ends up being the nominee turning around and electing Hillary thinking it will be better in the long run in stupidity on its face. She would get to nominate several liberal justices to the Supreme Court, which would mean the short term end of any efforts against abortion.

You are correct, sir.

When I get frustrated by fellow freepers who are willing to pull a Perot on us again I remind myself that we haven’t had a real knock-em out primary for a long time on the Republican side.

We saw what happened to the Dems last cycle with Kerry - all of the Deaniacs were crying and so on after the Great Yarrrrr Flame out.

Its hard when your candidate loses.

But supporting a third party candidate or sitting out the election will result in Hillary winning - and that cannot happen.

Which Republican candidate has received a 1000 dollars each from Chinese busboys? Which Republican hired Sandy (Stuffy) Berger for his staff? Which Republican candidate will fill the government with thousands of liberal party hacks? None - not even Rudy.

So, fellow Freepers - Stand hard on principles - fight harder for your candidate. But, by God, when the time comes, the best thing you can individually do for the safety, security, and economic prosperity of America is keep Hillary Clinton from becoming President by supporting the Republican nominee.

That must not happen.

There is nothing more dangerous to the future and values of our country than a Hillary Presidency. She must be stopped.

The simply answer is DON'T VOTE FOR GIULIANI.

If Giulinai gets the Republican nomination, then this country deserves Hillary.
