Another bungler at State. We used to have diplomats with b@lls. What happened to this country?

It’s very good strategy to invite your future detractors to participate thus leaving them out in the cold after the action. GW might want to begin doing this same thing.

“We used to have diplomats with b@lls.”

Physiologically speaking, this ain’t ever going to be with Condi. Anatomically incorrect. Oh, sorry is the day we got stuck w/Rice at State Dept. Thanks Jorge Bush. Let’s see. The Arabs don’t respect women. And Condi is going to negotiate a peace with them? Hah, they must be laughing all the way to the conference.

You are absolutely right, those two dumb shits know nothing about the middle east. Talk about dumb and dumber, I would not ask those two the direction to the Washington monument.

The first sentence says it all

Anxious not to repeat mistakes of past Middle East peace-making, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has turned to former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter for tips ahead of her own conference this year.

What happened to all the Condi for President boosters here on FR?

To be honest with you, I am so glad that FREEPERS does not get all the “For Presidents” that they claim are great. I love FREEPERS but sometime I am stunned by who they think would be a great President. Colin Powell was a big one that was touted around here. I just shake my head sometimes.

It goes all the way back to FDR.

Does anybody else wonder why we still support the UN?

It tries to undermine the Constitution of the USA and would love to cripple our Constitutional Republic.
In over 60 years No major politician has ever tried to get the USA out of the UN.

16 out of 17 of the AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. were later identified, in sworn testimony, as secret communist agents.

The first Secretary General was the AMERICAN Alger Hiss. Alger Hiss served time in prison pursuant to his involvement in a Communist spy ring.

Many of the other AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. fled the country, to avoid prosecution.

The ONE AMERICAN, that was involved in creating the U . N. ; and was NOT later identified, in sworn testimony, as a secret communist agent, was Dean Acheson. Dean Acheson’s law firm was the legal representative of the Soviet Union, in U. S. courts.

If the AMERICANS that were involved in creating the U . N. were Communists, what do you think we got from the rest of the world?

lol...the first sentence reads like parody. What's next, Hillary turning to Gore and Kerry for advice on how to win elections?

I figured all that nonsense would stop not long after her current appointment. It's almost impossible to be the head of Foggy Bottom and remain popular with conservatives. ....especially when the President at the time is in full "peace process" legacy mode.

After the amnesty bill, and now this, I’m thinking the demonrats, like a stopped clock, have been right: Bush and Rice are morons.

As far as I am concerned, from the moment Rice asked Beelzebubba and Bozo the Peanut Farmer for advice, she lost all credibility, all claim to respect, and even her moral right to hold public office.

AFAIAC, from now on she is slime, in the same jar with the Hildebeeste.

OMG! I couldn't believe this was true, when I first heard about it. It's true. OMG! I want to vomit.

Whatever "information" Condi has turned over to Clinton and Carter WILL be used to destroy Bush, and Republican's .

Does she think that Clinton is going to help Bush secure a legacy?!

What a spectacular blunder. I fear there are going to be horrendous consequences for this, including possibly, in Iraq.

Don't think the democrats would sabotage the Iraq war effort? Recall their "resolution" condemning our ally Turkey, while we are in the middle of a war? Do you think this was done by "accident"?-The dems didn't "realize" their action would harm our relationship with Turkey? If this is what you think, you haven't been paying attention.

IT MAKES NO SENSE. What is going on here? Is this being done deliberately to destroy the Republican party? Bizarre.

;-)

I doubt she wants advice or tips from them per se, but that there may still be insight to be gained by interviewing those those people and them relating their experiences with the Mideast at and thru the State Department level.

Carter, Clinton, et al are part of this history with the MidEast, and to ignore history or not learn from it is to repeat it.

The following two quotes of the article relay my impression of Condi as a Statesman.

“She’s trying to draw on the historical record and the experiences of others to see — see what she can glean and how that may be applicable to the current day,” McCormack said.

“She is a student of history and has a keen appreciation for how we can apply the lessons of history, what we can learn from those who have gone before us,”

Clinton hosted many Middle East peace summits at Camp David..., but never managed to get an Israeli-Palestinian deal.

Clinton offered 98%. The Palis will be satisfied possibly with 100%, or possibly cannot be satisfied at all. I see no "deal" possible--only capitulation.
