A school superintendent should know better than to get in to the middle of a political firestorm.

Not to mention the fact that the companies mentioned seem to have no fear with respect to employing illegals; I truly believe that people who employ these workers should face jail time. If enforced vigorously, a great part of the incentive would be removed.

Personally I think substantial fines would be sufficient say $500 to 1000 per day per illegal worker. If a business owner is going to put his business in hock for years or have to sell if to pay fines if he gets caught he will think twice.

Perhaps jail for repeat offenders.

The reason I am not in favor of jail for first offenders is because I don’t want to close these businesses I just want them to obey the law.
