Citgo distributor says sales lapse By Rick Stouffer TRIBUNE-REVIEW Wednesday, October 31, 2007
Greg Marnell thinks everyone has a right to do business in the United States, even Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. While filing his gas tank at Tyke's Citgo in Monroeville, Marnell said he is aware of Chavez's ties to the gasoline company.
"America's the melting pot, isn't it? Everybody has the right to come here and make money," said Marnell of Monroeville.
But Chavez's increasing anti-U.S. antics may be hurting the oil-rich South American nation at the gasoline pump. So says gasoline distributor Don Bowers, who acknowledges motorists seem to be buying less gasoline from Citgo, a subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A.

Actually, Southland Corp., who owns 7-11, switched from Citgo a while back. They claim it didn’t have anything to do with Chavez, et al. Yeah, right.
Could be, and possibly is, true, but many of the 7-11's in Florida are still sporting the Citgo gas signs. I know that when all of the BS with Chavez happened, 7-11's in the state announced that they were not going to carry Citgo anymore, but it seems it is taking quite a long while to change. I still won't go to a 7-11 for gas and I spend about $40 a day on gas.

No Go Citgo
Citgo’s refineries are on the block. They’ll be out of the US within 18 months.

Both Circle K and Petro Express are privately-owned chains of convenience stores, the former an international property of Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard, and the latter based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Neither is owned by Citgo or the Venezuela government. Although Petro Express outlets did sell Citgo gasoline, the company announced in
Snopes confirmed THE OPPOSITE!!!
In October 2006, the following e-mail about Citgo and Petro Express began circulating:
CITGO, BEING AWARE THAT GASOLINE SALES ARE DOWN DUE TO U.S. CUSTOMERS NOT WANTING TO BUY FROM "CHAVEZ".... HAVE BEGUN CHANGING THE NAME OF SOME OF THEIR CIRCLE K STORES IN TEXAS & OKLAHOMA...AND POSSIBLY OTHER PLACES AS WELL, TO: "PETRO EXPRESS"
THEREFORE, DO NOT BUY FROM "PETRO EXPRESS", ...NOR CITGO....
"PETRO EXPRESS" IS ALSO 100% OWNED BY "CHAVEZ" ....

It is not uncommon for independent stations and chains to switch fuel suppliers from time to time. Occurrences of independents' dropping Citgo in favor of other suppliers are often misinterpreted by the public as attempts on Citgo's part to "switch names" in order to fool consumers into continuing to purchase Citgo gasoline.
What a tool. Typical 'Rat.
Valero, by chance?
I buy several hundred gallons of diesel a week in Vermont. Appropriate to Vermont’s leftist image, Citgo is the most commonly found brand in Vermont. Recently, I have noticed Citgo diesel has usually been selling a few cents per gallon less than most other diesel brands. I avoid buying it at all costs. I can’t help but wonder if the differential is to make up for lower sales or to capture market share to make up for lower sales overall. I tend to buy Exxon Mobil. One good reason to buy that brand is that a certain species of moonbat has been boycotting it for years because they are a successful, well run company that makes plenty of money. Horrors!
I'm here and I'm not making any money.

Joe Kennedy and the citizens energy BS is one of the most blatant rackets going, and the media continues to carry water for these scheming Kennedy pukes.
