Some good people here....I started to say that some of those listed were populists rather than conservatives...
Then I noticed it was from the Brits and on their side of the pond some of our liberals would be thought of as conservatives.

What I find consistently remarkable is that these rankings where mentions are made of Presidential nominees, they pretend as if Fred Thompson and his candidacy doesn’t exist.

Not true. There was a Republican black governor in LA during Reconstruction, the first minority governor in US history.

I would have thought the Telegraph could have found a picture of Thomas Sowell that’s less than 30 years old. In that pic, he looks like an extra from the Mod Squad.
