Welcome to the website for 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines — the most decorated Battalion in the Marine Corps. On behalf of all the Marines, Sailors, and their families, it’s a privilege to have you aboard. We are located at Camp San Mateo aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in San Diego County, and are part of the I Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Marine Division, 5th Marine Regiment. At times, particularly during deployment periods, several other attachment commands and units call 2/5 home.
2/5 takes great pride in being a part of America’s 9-1-1 Force, ready to deploy anywhere in the world with little or no warning, to fight and win upon arrival. To accomplish our mission, we are dedicated to readiness, selfless service, and family preparedness.
