Marry me. I can cook. ;)
It seems you are doing okay, maintaining possession of your assault weapons, so I don’t understand what the problem is.
This topic has been a grievous sidetrack for me and I must go now.
You ROCK. :-)
I always mentally pictured the "admin moderator" character as a dude. :-P
One down; approximately another two dozen to go. ;)
You're wrong. I'm in New Jersey. There are a lot of toys I'd like that I'd have to break the law to own.
I guess his principles weren’t as rigid as he thought they were. Tee hee
*************
LOL! Well done. I missed that one. :)
Please cite the section of the Constitution that restrains the federal government from regulating interstate commerce.
He thinks that Roe v. Wade was a horrible decision. You don't?
He thinks it is horrible because he believes that the individual states are authorized to decide whether unborn children are people or not. That is not why Roe v. Wade is wrong. It is wrong morally because unborn children are people no matter what any government at any level says, and it is wrong legally because the 14th Amendment guarantees equal protection of the laws to all persons on a federal basis.
Except that he voted against military patrols of US borders.
You think that letting dumbass beurocrats in Washington decide on how children should be educated is better than leaving it to the localities and states?
No, I believe he was wrong to vote against a voucher system that would allow parents - the most local entity of all - to have more options about how to school their children.
You're clueless about me. Ron Paul voted against reducing waiting periods on firearm purchases from 3 days to 1.
I would prefer 1 day, not 3.
No, I'm against Ron Paul's decision to vote for Section 8 housing vouchers using my tax money.
Thank you for so eloquently proving my point about where so many of the Paul haters are coming from.
here's exactly where I am coming from: I am an American who supports our nation's troops. I also support a strong and proactive foreign policy. I also support the right of Americans to buy firearms without having to wait 3 days. I also support education tax relief for families. I oppose welfare programs like Section 8. I support using US troops to prevent terrorists and drugdealers from entering our borders. And as an American and a professing Christian I oppose playing jurisdictional games with the lives of unborn children. Federal law says all people have a right to equal protection: enforce it now.
I am basing my opinion upon listening to him at the Texas Straw Poll and that was my impression. That said, it would certainly have helped had Duncan Hunter been given more questions during the Republican debates. I am steamed over the fact that the media had already anointed the “front-runners” and then stinted on the questions given Hunter, Tancredo and Paul.
I can't say that I am all that familiar with his voting record, but I think he views the abortion question as extra-Constitutional: The federal government has no role in this matter, and therefore it falls to states' rights. Personally, I think RP offers up some excellent ideas about returning to federalism, and slimming down the federal government. Where I personally part ways with RP is on his position in the mideast. Immediate surrender (what he calls withdrawal) would probably be catastrophic.
Happens to a lot of guys his age, from what I hear. ;)

Paul is the strongest anti-illegal immigration candidate out there.

Do you realize how out of the mainstream your views are here on FR?!? You like gun control and claim that you aren't a Rudy fan.

You're for the government subsidizing someone's home?

“Ive never been a member of the Libertarian Party. Ive always voted Republican.”
I meant Barry Jr. and Paul. Paul was in fact the Libertarian Presidential nominee in 1988, and is still a member of the LP.
Once the U.S. fully committed itself to the battle of Iraq all conservatives supported getting the job done. ...even if they didn't support going in initially. Doing otherwise - what Pelosi and Co. want - would be harmful to America in too many ways to mention.
Who is this Goldwater who is mentioned from time to time? How does he matter? Seems like another John Anderson.
Oh. I thought you were talking to me. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Sorry, not going to happen, IMHO. His stance on the war puts him out of touch of most of the conservatives in this country.
Do you oppose the federal government getting involved in situations like in California where pot is grown, sold and smoked within the boundaries of the state? The feds don't.

Ha!!!! From his campaign site...
The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideals of liberty. My professional and legislative record demonstrates my strong commitment to this pro-life principle. In 40 years of medical practice, I never once considered performing an abortion, nor did I ever find abortion necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman. In Congress, I have authored legislation that seeks to define life as beginning at conception, HR 1094. I am also the prime sponsor of HR 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn. I have also authored HR 1095, which prevents federal funds to be used for so-called population control. Many talk about being pro-life. I have taken direct action to restore protection for the unborn. As an OB/GYN doctor, Ive delivered over 4,000 babies. That experience has made me an unshakable foe of abortion. Many of you may have read my book, Challenge To Liberty, which champions the idea that there cannot be liberty in a society unless the rights of all innocents are protected. Much can be understood about the civility of a society in observing its regard for the dignity of human life.

That would be better than what we have now, but why not just get the feds out of the way altogether? The added layer of beurocracy can't help.Ron Paul voted against reducing waiting periods on firearm purchases from 3 days to 1.
That's still voting "yes" for gun control. One can not interperet the Constitution literally and then vote for "waiting periods", which are useless nonsense anyway.
It sounds like Fred Thompson is the candidate for you.
