Breaking on MSNBC... Supreme Court to take up DC gun ban case
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.com ...
Thanks for your kind thoughts! I think that sometimes God can make us change jobs. And yes, I did work for jerks. Good riddance.
(From a friend)
The “Supremes” are going to have to determine what the meaning of “is, is”!
Does the term “the people”, used so widely throughout the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, mean a collective right or, does it mean an individual right? Should the “Supremes” rule that the term means a collective right, in the context of the Second Amendment, then hang on to your hats, folks, as this will be taken as license to limit or remove all of your individual rights. They, and you, simply cannot have it both ways, as Bubba so stated in “It depends on what the meaning of is, is!”
Read and understand the full meaning of this case. This issue is a real slippery slope. ALL of your “so called” rights hinge on the outcome of this ruling! The ultimate outcome of this ruling WILL effect you all! For those of you anti-gunners, fence straddlers and side liners out there, who think that it is only about owning handguns, you better think again. If the “Supremes” rule against us (We, the people) it won’t be only the “gun owners” of America whose “OX WILL BE GORED” it will be all of us (We, the people!), including you!!! And remember, this is our friends and neighbors in the Democrat Party that are pushing this whole thing!!
Maybe it is just time to get this whole matter resolved, once and for all!
Good luck to us all in this case and in the next election!

And, for those of you who don’t remember your history lessons, or were simply never taught them in the first place:

Declaration of Independence http://www.usconstitution.net/declar.html
US Constitution http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html
No, no, I’m not saying I think that’s how I think they’re going to vote, I’m saying I don’t think it’s one of those frequent situations where eight votes are known, and you just have to wait to see how the swing vote or two is cast. And I agree with you. I was hoping for at least one more libertarian/originalist, preferably replacing one of the far left-wingers, before I’d be comfortable.
They’ll probably rework the statue so he’s holding a shovel or something like they did in ET.
If the SC goes commie again, there should be no need to worry about GOP nominations until after we, the citizen militia of the Republic, charged with the responsibility of being the last line of defense in case of invasion or the installation of a tryant, take our country back.
Speaking of Fed Thompson, I see a problem with the question the SCOTUS is asking: it asks whether private citizens have the right to firearms in their homes, not whether they have the right to use those firarms for self defense in their homes or for defense OF their homes.
Is it possible the SCOTUS is differentiating because, when all is said and done, DC might be state-like but is NOT a state? After all, there's no DC National Guard. Or do you think I'm being too optimistic?
That would be a bad thing, IMHO, and I think they've rephrased the question correctly. They said 'for private use in their homes.' They don't limit that use in any way. It's strictly the question of right to keep and use. If you have a right to keep it and use it then the question of what use you put it to is a separate matter, still appropriately left for definition in another setting. The need for the firearms for self defense is going to be an inherent part of the arguments in favor of over turning the law and need not be stated in the question.
And why would that be an issue involving FDT in this context?
The SCOTUS upheld CFR, which violates the First Amendment.
Oh yeah, Co2 is pollution. Making all of us illegal or what? The SCOTUS had made some truely IGNORANT rulings lately.
We're well stocked on ammo, but methinks we're making an ammo run on Saturday anyway.
CFR, CO2, and Kelso. (Private property confiscation)
Or remove the statue completely
After all, we can't expose our children to have such politically incorrect ideas; the spirit of patriotic resistance and revolution. This idea is such a useless anachronism in this progressive age. /sarcasm

I thought about a caption, but decided that the pic and the statue spoke volumes without the need for a caption.

You're welcome.
BTW - as I understand it - this graphic is of your design?

Are there decals and/or T-shirts available?
Hope things are going well for you over in Clay. Stay safe.

Actually I bought rights to use it for my books and related items from a guy on The High Road. He does, I believe, sell mugs, t-shirts etc with that design on Cafe Press. I believe he is “Dr.Z” on the High Road, but I haven’t contacted him in a few years.

If you can’t find him, just post a thread in general discussion, and somebody will be able to hook you up.
