Well, to put a positive note on it, Socolpol did manage to put his/her nose in the air and say flyover country without actually using the Democrat term. Something to be said for being creative.

Mighty “fancy” folks you got out there...

When it gets to where it cost’s a nickle a breath to live, come on over...

Don’t worry, we’ll leave the light on for ya...

“Fred is a carbon copy of Bush. If Fred gets elected, more free-trade, more illegals, minor tax cuts.”

I disagree with you there. Thompson would govern to the left of GW Bush. Bush is definitely a stronger, more principled leader. If Thompson was president, he would have long ago compromised with the Democrats on the WOT.

Paul is hardly talking economics. All he’s talking about is surrender in Iraq and how terrorism is all our fault.

While I dispute that Ron Paul has been talking about "surrender" in Iraq or about "how terrorism is all our fault," it is a fact that Ron Paul has been talking about economics quite a lot. Only if you are so bereft of the capacity to think would you think for one minute that Ron Paul only speaks to the war in Iraq and in the "surrender" terms that you describe.

If you have not heard Ron Paul speak on economics, perhaps that is because you have not been listening or have not wanted to hear. He tore Ben Bernake a new one recently in a congressional hearing. Ron Paul knows more about monetary policy than all of the other presidential candidates combined.

The MSM only reports on Ron Paul's views on the war in Iraq, so you will have to think for yourself to learn his other positions. Are you up to that task?

So, another useful idiot anti war nut job for L Ron Paul who doesn’t think we have enemies, and the folks jumping out of the WTC on 9/11 was fake filming.

I don't understand why you would make such an irrational and inflammatory statement. Ron Paul has never intimated that we don't have enemies, or that "the folks jumping out of the WTC on 9/11 was fake filming."

Just what kind of stupid, irrational, wacko, idiot, nutjob must you be to make such a bizarre statement? Have you totally taken leave of your senses, are did you have none to take leave of in the first place?

Cherry picking time! http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Fred_Thompson.htm

Fred Thompson:

Voted NO on 1998 GOP budget.

Voted NO on banning affirmative action hiring with federal funds.

Take taxes down to zero for the alternative energy sources. (de-facto tax)

Voted NO on spending $448B of tax cut on education & debt reduction.

Voted YES on $75M for abstinence education. (abstain from spending)

Voted YES on more funding for forest roads and fish habitat.

Voted YES on transportation demo projects.

Voted NO on killing a bill for trade sanctions if China sells weapons.

Voted YES on extending free trade to Andean nations.

Voted YES on granting normal trade relations status to Vietnam. (communist)

Voted YES on permanent normal trade relations with China.

Voted YES on expanding trade to the third world. (selling American jobs to the lowest bidder)

Voted YES on renewing ‘fast track’ presidential trade authority.

Voted YES on banning “soft money” contributions and restricting issue ads. (anti free speech)

Voted YES on banning campaign donations from unions & corporations.

Voted YES on funding for National Endowment for the Arts.

Voted YES on favoring 1997 McCain-Feingold overhaul of campaign finance.

Voted NO on banning more types of Congressional gifts.

Voted NO on allowing reimportation of Rx drugs from Canada. (so much for free trade between two 1st world nations. But free trade with quasi-slave labor is better)

Voted YES on funding GOP version of Medicare prescription drug benefit. (Isn’t this what Hunter is accused of. SHAME ON FRED!)

Voted YES on limiting self-employment health deduction.

Voted YES on military pay raise of 4.8%. (Another thing Hunter is accused of, paying for the military, but ITS SPENDING ISNT IT!)

Voted YES on allowing more foreign workers into the US for farm work. (race to the bottom, lower middle class)

Voted YES on visas for skilled workers. (race to the bottom, upper middle class)

Voted NO on reducing marriage penalty instead of cutting top tax rates.

Voted NO on increasing tax deductions for college tuition.

Voted YES on Internet sales tax moratorium.

Voted YES on ending the Bosnian arms embargo.

Condemns anti-Muslim bigotry in name of anti-terrorism.

Voted NO on eliminating block grants for food stamps.

Geez, is this cherry picking or 25%?

"We have Haley..."

We LOVE Haley!

Now...and for what the future holds.

He won't run for President, but he will be THE BEST Senator any state could aspire to have.

Lordy...I hope Trent's out of the picture by then.

I love Chip Pickering, too.

Absolutely right! There are very few people who would have been as steadfast as Bush has been on the WOT. The huge amount of pressure that has been on him would have made most people cave in. I have no doubt that Thompson would have caved on at least part of it. His senate career points to that, he doesn’t have the stomach for the tough fights.

He believes in the military to defend the freedom of the citizens of this thing we call America.

He does not believe in the use of the military to increase the bottom line of corporate America.

I have spoken with face to face with several L Ron Paul supporters including the other week a group of them had a table set up with his propaganda.

They will tell you no passengers were on the planes that hit the WTC, it was by remote control. That is for starters.

Much of what they said about Israel would make Hitler proud

You have never spoken face to face with me. I have been a firm supporter of Ron Paul for 30 years.

You are from California, and so you cannot possibly have any concept of how people in Texas or any other freedom-loving state believes.

We are Texans. We believe in this thing we call "America." We believe in Ron Paul.

You anti Americans will just have to deal with that.

I take it you don’t agree. Did he not cave on the Clinton/China election fraud investigation? Did he not capitulate to the media in supporting McCain Feingold? He would never have withstood the full court pressure from the media throughout this WOT.
