Rudy went out of his way in the 1990s to tell us how alike he and Bill Clinton on matters of policy. Is it “just nuts” to remember that?
Rudy’s administration laundered money to hide his affairs. He knowlingly promoted a mobbed-up pal of his to police commissioner (and later got him nominated for head of Homeland Security). Rudy’s personal life is a mess, and his administration was corrupt. The only difference between him and Bill Clinton is a matter of degree.
You go tattle all you want. While you’re at it, you can explain about your saying they are exactly the same in one post and that there’s a difference in degree in another. If there’s a difference in degree, there’s a difference, so you are now accepting my point.

It really bothers me that he’s always saying I reduced crime, and I did this and I did that instead of giving credit where credit is due. If he were not such a ham, he would be saying, under my leadership crime was blah blah blah. Just one of the reasons I can’t stand him. I guess being a stinkin cheater is the other main reason.

Of course I wouldn’t have voted for Rudy regardless.
It’s typical NYC politics.
If you don’t blow your own horn, then there won’t be any music.
However, folks outside of NYC take it seriously. They really believe him.

Just to put this in perspective.
It’s big here in CA too, our Governator is always talking about ll the great things he has done overlooking all the damage he’s done, and same thing, everywhere else folks think he’s great, but he leaves a lot to be desired.
The more miles you get from the pol’s home state/city — the more image counts over substances.
People heard Rudy talking tough about crime and saw NYC crime stats go down, so they assumed he was responsible.
People saw him walking around Ground Zero and assumed he was in charge of the whole sheebang.
These are easy assumptions to make, but they belittle the efforts of thousands of hardworking people.
I thought the ‘New Yorks Finest Taxi Service’ was for smugglers...
