Murtha finds military progress in trip to Iraq Warns that Iraqis must do more for their own security Thursday, November 29, 2007 By Jerome L. Sherman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. John Murtha today said he saw signs of military progress during a brief trip to Iraq last week, but he warned that Iraqis need to play a larger role in providing their own security and the Bush administration still must develop an exit strategy.

"I think the 'surge' is working," the Democrat said in a videoconference from his Johnstown office, describing the president's decision to commit more than 20,000 additional combat troops this year. But the Iraqis "have got to take care of themselves."

Violence has dropped significantly in recent months, but Mr. Murtha said he was most encouraged by changes in the once-volatile Anbar province, where locals have started working closely with U.S. forces to isolate insurgents linked to Al Qaeda.

The sooner the Dems in Congress approve funding for the troops, the sooner we can wrap this battle up, John!

Now is not the time to be timid, John!

The turkey is two years too late to start supporting our military. He’s changed his mind only because he was forced to by the heat he’s received from his cold blooded murder comment.

Thank you for the correction. ;-D

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Murtha is a miserable excuse for whatever he is, or pretends to be.

It must have smelled bad, real bad , when Murtha pulled his head out of his own butt.

I feel sorry for the soldiers who had to be even near this POS. I am surprised one of them didn't walk right up to him and deck him.

Attention people of Pennsylvania voting in Murtha’s district:

For God’s sake, do the right thing and retire this guy.

Synonymous with Bush's strategy.

Military progress in Iraq and playing a larger role in a strategy of democratic exit from Washington in '08.
