Christian kids left behind – by their parents
WND ^ | December 4, 2007 | Olivia St. John

Raging ideological battles in both California and Iowa reached new levels last week when students packed up their backpacks and left their public schools. In California, parents staged a two-day boycott, pulling students from state schools in protest of SB 777, a bill force-feeding children perverse material and videos vile enough to garner an R-rating in the local multiplex. Meanwhile in Iowa, distressed parents removed up to 200 students after one public high school sponsored an event encouraging students to bend their gender by cross-dressing. Evidently, some are beginning to wake up to the fact that their children are no longer receiving true education, but are being clandestinely recruited into sick social movements threatening to tear families apart at the seams. As Barb Heki with the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators stated: "Kids are being saturated with anti-Christian teaching, touching not only their minds, but their hearts."

Yet tragically, while some Christian parents and pastors demonstrated courage in removing their children from the filth, the vast majority simply looked away and did nothing.

This is incredible considering that 85 percent of children from Christian families are being public schooled, and around 85 percent of them are losing their faith by the time they graduate. So the question must be asked: What is currently preventing most parents and churches from taking action as the nation's children are being soul murdered?

Child advocate Jody Wohlenhaus, working in tandem with the Iowa Family Policy Center, has observed that "non-believers possess a more clear vision of how to shape children than many Christian parents do." She said they not only get to children early, but they strongly appeal to the children's sympathy by distorting statistics on bullying. In short, they know how to take our children captive.

Will American parents take back the save their children from the public school system or allow their mass godless indoctrination in the atiest secular humanism to continue?

It’s “free” baby-sitting for most parents, so no, they don’t care if their children are being recruited by the homosexuals, the socialists, and the enviro-worshipers.
Of course, it isn’t free to the taxpayers who pay billions to run these indoctrination centers and thus are almost as guilty of public school child abuse as the parents are.

You hit the nail on the head kitty. So many parents do see public schools as free babysitting and therefore couldn’t care less who’s teaching their children or what they’re being taught. Very sad but very true.

Overblown... Sounds like an O’Riely rant. In the 80’s many of the jock types dressed as cheerleaders as part of some spirit week or some other stupid thing. Anyhow none of the guys are rump wranglers today.

“Yet tragically, while some Christian parents and pastors demonstrated courage in removing their children from the filth, the vast majority simply looked away and did nothing.”

Wondering if these 85% of parents per the article are even aware. As one poster indicates there are those whom simply consider the babysitting angle, but those that would care may not be as their memories of their own schooldays in the public schooling weren’t blatant indoctrination as they are now. Key word: blatant.

It takes a triggering event to cause some to become aware when their focused otherwise.

Then there is the old “denial” syndrome as well. “Not in my school”. That is something in some State full of Leftist Kooks, not in my community.

Raising the level of consciousness on the matter might change statistics of awareness, and save the souls of many a child.

"What is currently preventing most parents and churches from taking action as the nation's children are being soul murdered?"

That's easy- Legislation. They are forced to shut up and forced to put their children is that vile environment by law. The real problem is sexual deviants, while allowed by law to, as adults, indulge in this disgusting behavior, have taken over the education system and are forcing their perverted agenda on children from Kindergarten on. It is brainwashing plain and simple. Where is the childrens right to choose? Children should not be forced to believe that a natural, abnormal sexual behavior is "good". They should be educated in an enviroment that is free from any pressures from gay rights activists, and allowed to develop as nature intended. They can "chioose" later in life when they are young adults and better understand those aspects.

I think it is a lot more complex than that. A lot of them still have the covers over their heads and are not aware of the depths of the depravity their children are being taught. They are probably given feel good PC excuses when they question things.

Many years ago (probably 15,) I read an article by Cal Thomas that said unless Christian parents pulled their kids from public schools, things would continue to get worse.

That article convinced us to homeschool. But his prophecy is true, parents have left their kids in public school and things have gotten worse.

One of the many reasons why WND has no credibility is stuff like this: manufacturing statistics on the fly.

Reading these posts I read various opinions. I do not recall anything like I read here from my public school days through 1965. Frankly, my parents never looked at school or a teacher as a babby sitter. They expected teachers to teach the subjects, assign us challenging homework, and; we had best get our homework done. No we were not allowed to use the phone without permission. The food was good in school, too, and; we did not need drink/snack machines, fast food, etc. I vividly recall we could go no where on the weekend until our home work was done, and; we did not dare to bring a sub par report card home. I recall two students still in high school at age 21 plus. No, pregnant teens were allowed in school. We must have been totally abused by what some of these experts say these days. Frankly, I was grateful to receive a diploma that meant something, and; the courses did prepare me for college.

Do you honestly doubt this isn't happening?...or that families who call themselves Christian continue to send their children into this mess?

Our children are not equipped mentally, emotionally and spiritually to handle the perversions daily dispensed in the public school arena in some schools.....

It's truly Sodom and allowing our kids to wallow in the mire with the rest of them....**and believe me, they do have an agenda** ....will result in our precious children being compromised bit by bit, thought by thought....heart & soul.

Ditto through the early 90's. Spirit week for us included school colors day, twin day, heritage day, opposite sex day, movie character day, etc, included in with a pep rally, bonfire, dances, king/queen elections, and a dinky parade. It was all comic and in good fun - never an expression of sexual identity or confusion.

Of course it's happening. But you don't help the situation by fabricating statistics.

This varies a LOT from town to town: I know the kind of stuff you’re talking about that I grew up with too; harmless foolishness that’s part of growing up. You have to see the details of what’s being done to these kids close up to understand that what is going on here is a completely different breed of catfishdogturnip. This is carefully planned social radicalism, and it is designed to obliterate cultural norms and sever us from tradition, leaving kids to be easily directed to the will of the Loonies and Narcissists. It’s cultural Maoism. The parents are right to pull their kids, and I hope the school district goes right out of business.

Public schooling represents your tax dollars at work - whether you, or parents and children, like it or not. Vouchers are the way to go if you value freedom.

Here in the Central Eastern US, (I won’t say where, so a lib doesn’t get any funny ideas) we aren’t experiencing this type of crapola...yet. We still have Christmas concerts that say the words God, Holy and yes, gasp...Christ. There I said it. “In God We Trust” signs hang in the foyer of both my daughters schools. Some home school, but not because of indoctrination fears.

All indications from where I sit is that it is getting worse by the year.

There’s an ideological agenda inside public education that’s even more important than reading and math.

Getting rid of the No Child Left Behind standards will help the local public schools spend even more time on politically correct nonesene including indoctrination in “tolerance.”

If I had the power, I’d prosecute Christian parents who keep their kids in public schools for child abuse. Public schools have simply become a tool of indoctrination for the evil Leftists.
