New York Times Set To Nuke Hillary?

Drudge has this below up with no link. But pay attention to the reporter's name:

NYT Plans Sunday Exclusive on Questionable Clinton Library donors... Reporter Don Van Natta... Developing...

He's a serious award-winning investigative journalist ... and co-author with Jeff Gerth of Her Way:

link: Prosecutors later came to believe that Hillary had padded her bills; she "wasn't guilty of [knowingly] facilitating nefarious transactions -- she was guilty of doing less work than she took credit for," Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta Jr. explain in their 2007 biography, Her Way. Hillary herself never took refuge in this explanation.

Somehow I'm thinking Hillary isn't pleased re Her Way:

Van Natta: "We also show that she has a sort of secret side to her Senate office. We call it the mysteries of Hillaryland in the book where she actually had people on, employees of hers, people on her payroll, who she did not divulge as she was supposed to, according to Senate rules, and we have ethics experts raising questions about that."

Gerth: "She is now running for president, and we felt that people needed to understand how, how she acts in the political arena and, and use that as a basis for deciding whether she is qualified to be president or not. And, you know, in essence, we sort of found that there are two Hillarys. In, in one case, there's the well-informed, the battle-tested, the diligent senator who does her homework. And then we found another Hillary. When it comes to a bump in the road -- whether it is on Iraq or on energy policy or on the environment, where she has a problem, that she plays fast and loose with the facts, she won't admit a mistake, and she sort of, you know, retreats into a shell."

I disagree, I think many blacks that normally stay home just might come out to vote for Obama

Black women vote their weight, so to speak, relative to the general population, and I dont think Obama is going to get any more Black males (who are still elligible) to come out any than they do. And even if he does, it will be countered easily by the fence sitters who will never vote for a Black guy, but will never tell the pollsters that.

I guess we'll just have to disagree. Obama is a real lefty, and he cant keep that secret forever.

Yes. Much as I personally discount anything the Times has to say, the people who can't go potty in the morning without the Times telling them it's okay will be persuaded by this.

Who will this Muslim sleeper agent latch onto after Hillary blows the primaries? I think Huma looks a lot better with Obama than with Hillary. Obama could ditch his kooky wife and get a real Muslim wife

LOL!

“Hillary must be dead, not MOSTLY dead.”

I think this might be from “The Princess Bride”. IIRC, Billy Crystal was able to revive the hero because he was only “mostly dead” instead of “all dead”.

Ok - I’m confused.

Although the Post story has an ominous headline, what is illegal about the donors?

I wondered how long it would be before someone inserted that note of rationality. Good job. You’re exactly right!

How many times have see seen the Clintons skewered only to have their mouthpieces say, “Oh that’s old news.” There was nothing to that.

They raise their own people to offer up inoculations. And then those people turn right around and defend Hillary later on. This will be no different.

If this was truly a hit piece, it would have come out just weeks before the election. And I don’t mean the primaries. This is a late inoculation, and that’s it.

The democrat power brokers have decided that Hillary is a LOSER! The NY Times is tossing dirt on Hillary's newly dug grave (she is inside screaming and yelling).

Pepperhead, just a couple of things.

Barak Hussein Obama. While we are fighting a war against Islamic terrorists, this will not play well outside of the coasts.

He is an empty suit, long of speechifying, very short on policy specifics. In a debate with Romney or Rudy or Fred or Huckabee, he will look like what he is, a lightweight, an empty suit.

Scratch the surface and you will find a screaming liberal. Even Hillary is accusing him of being too far to the left.

Given these handicaps, I don't think the fact that he is black will matter to anyone.

I somewhat agree with what you say. Obama could energize people to vote for him just as easily as energizing them not to vote for him. In the end I hope people will judge him for what kind of man he is and that is a extreme liberal.

Maybe somebody at the NYT sees the writing on the wall

Lots of people trace the decline of the MSM to the internet and talk-radio. I think it can more directly be traced to their shilling for the Clintons. There was effectively no internet when Vince Foster was murdered, and Rush was already talking to at least 15 million a week. For some such as myself it was transparently obvious that Foster was murdered, but the MSM said otherwise and I knew I had to look elsewhere for news. I still look at the MSM from time to time for sports scores. They always seem to get these right for some reason, but the only time I look at the front page of a major newspaper anymore is to laugh at it.

Maybe someone in charge of the bottom line has noticed.

Agreed. I hope the Republicans would be able to field someone who could beat Obama. I would worry about his foreign policy (he seems to think if he just reverses all of President Bush’s policies everyone in the rest of the world will love us), but he might bring us back from the extreme partisanship and vitriol that has been the norm since 1992—the Clintons’ idea of politics as war and “the politics of personal destruction” which the Democrats have continued as the opposition party since 2001. Of course there’s no guarantee he would do that—he may think the way to popularity is to denounce and defame Bush and the Republicans at every turn, but at least there’s a chance, whereas Hillary will be at least as malignant as in the first two terms.

I am very concerned about the Breck Girl and Fat Bill. I have heard BG’s name more in the press in the last 48 hours than the last two months.

Paying half attention to the news in the last week, I too noticed Breck Girl getting quite a few mentions. Was wondering if I was reading this accurately. Could be that the Kingmakers have run the numbers on the southern states and don't like what they see without Edwards on the ticket.

I have a friend who lives and breathes the New York Times. She acts like she has a secret link to every truth in the universe because she reads the NYT.

I have a friend like that, too. Lives in NYC, where she believes a "modified Bill of Rights" is in effect because the population is too dense for normal freedom. She's quite happy with that.

She also makes allusions to all the whackjob rantings on DU and daily kos, but says she has never visited those sites, and I believe her. I think there is a "trickle down" mechanism where the lunacy of those sites gets filtered, and then passed on to the "normal" party faithful. What one day is insane screeching on DU becomes accepted fact the next day by the "sane and sober" liberals.

My own opinion is the Slimes and Compost (thank you, Mark Levin) are published with an intended audience of a few thousand movers-and-shakers in mind. These are semi-important people inside the Beltway who don't merit a daily fax, email, or conference call from on high, but still need to know what the day's party line is.
