New York Times Set To Nuke Hillary?

Drudge has this below up with no link. But pay attention to the reporter's name:

NYT Plans Sunday Exclusive on Questionable Clinton Library donors... Reporter Don Van Natta... Developing...

He's a serious award-winning investigative journalist ... and co-author with Jeff Gerth of Her Way:

link: Prosecutors later came to believe that Hillary had padded her bills; she "wasn't guilty of [knowingly] facilitating nefarious transactions -- she was guilty of doing less work than she took credit for," Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta Jr. explain in their 2007 biography, Her Way. Hillary herself never took refuge in this explanation.

Somehow I'm thinking Hillary isn't pleased re Her Way:

Van Natta: "We also show that she has a sort of secret side to her Senate office. We call it the mysteries of Hillaryland in the book where she actually had people on, employees of hers, people on her payroll, who she did not divulge as she was supposed to, according to Senate rules, and we have ethics experts raising questions about that."

Gerth: "She is now running for president, and we felt that people needed to understand how, how she acts in the political arena and, and use that as a basis for deciding whether she is qualified to be president or not. And, you know, in essence, we sort of found that there are two Hillarys. In, in one case, there's the well-informed, the battle-tested, the diligent senator who does her homework. And then we found another Hillary. When it comes to a bump in the road -- whether it is on Iraq or on energy policy or on the environment, where she has a problem, that she plays fast and loose with the facts, she won't admit a mistake, and she sort of, you know, retreats into a shell."

She is forgetting that she is not supposed to actually BE battle-tested through her husband's scandals! The general public is supposed to ASSUME she was in the private quarters of the White House wringing her hands and crying during each of them. The truth was that she caused 90% of the scandals herself and probably led the coverup and the mafia-style silencing of all of the threats afterward.

So she really is battle-tested. She nearly got caught a thousand times breaking every kind of law we have. BUT SHE IS STILL ABLE TO RUN AS A FRONTRUNNER FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. That's battle-tested. Just ask Pellicano, Vince, McDougal, Willey, Broadderick, etc.

So, she cannot be allowed to win.

Yeah, we saw what her heroes, the Soviets, did each time one of them was in power over their political enemies. For you and for so many others she cannot be allowed to win.

I agree that Edwards is definitely “sitting pretty” (oops for the pun) about now. He will be the hardest to beat.

These are the same people who read the Washington Compost, this could lead to a Major break in the ranks. I have hated those people since 1988, God Forgive Me.

“I WILL be the nominee”...... - Hillary

Be very afraid of anybody who wants to be President that badly.

Your objections should derail him, but my point, as I thought I made clear, is that the electorate is increasingly vulnerable to demagoguery. People don’t think much anymore, they are easily swayed by Obama’s appeal to “rise above the partisanship,” to “see the nuances” “instead of black and white only.” It’s part of the chickification of the culture—women (and gelded NPR-listening men) think men are too combative, to competitive etc. and that their superior female wisdom will save the world. When they hear an attractive man spouting “I’m not like those other guys (men) who are such hardbitten policy wonks, I’m more nuanced, etc.,” they feel (not think) that here truly is someone who can lead us out of the wilderness of men bashing each other over the head with ideas all these centuries, which is what leads to wars and poverty and corporate greed, dontcha know.

Perhaps we are not yet over the demagogic hill, but I fear we are. That’s why Obama’s dangerous. By comparison, Hillary does politics like those evil, competitive, testosterone, warmongering men do politics. Even when she tries to talk out of both sides, triangulate etc., people see through it. When Obama does exactly the same move (his real policies are exactly like Hillary’s), he’s adored for it by the chicks (and gelded man-chicks) who make up much of the population today.

When I hear “Clinton Library got funds from a broad,” I wonder “no surprise there, how much did Streisand contribute?”

You’d better start taking Obama seriously. He is in fact an empty suit, was nothing until the Democrat machine in Chicago made him something, but he’s a very slick empty suit and the electorate is increasingly unable to spot empty suits, witness, 8 years of B.J.

Of course, it is possible the party regulars coalesce around Edwards, but somehow I think the smart money will move to Obama as the next Camelot king, thinking they can ride his mojo back into holding the reins of power.

I’ll be very pleased if he turns out to be easily defeatable, but right now, I think it’s foolish simply to assume that. Don’t misunderstimate him. I’ve watched him in Illinois since he was a nobody and he has been underestimated repeatedly. Don’t make that mistake until you have evidence that he’s actually failed. And so far, we don’t have that evidence, rather, precisely the contrary evidence.

I agree, there is something likable about the way Obama comes off.

Voters love optimism whether it relates to the facts or not.

the electorate is increasingly vulnerable to demagoguery

That cuts both ways, if you get my point. Theres some unfair generalizations one can "imply" about Barack that can motivate an anti-Barack constituency, that wont show up in polling. (Virginia candidate Wilder can probably attest to that)

I think the major thing working against him is his shallow experiences , weak networking, and a total (not triangulated) weakness on policy positions, which will probably kick in to much of the numbed-out public during the last week in October, IMO.

Great Cartoon:
Freepers may be in store for a X-Mas present of monumental proportions related to a deal in the works to link a new counterpoint organization to MoveOn.org with the Paul v Hillary Clinton civil fraud suit in California which will begin discovery early next year. The Judge already guaranteed Hillary will be under oath.
The X-mas present is a titanic administrative complaint being prepared for filing late next week. The complaint will detail how the Department of Justice defined in May, 2005 conduct that constituted a crime punishable with 5 years in jail. In January, 2006 Hillary directly engaged in the identical crime,as confirmed by the public record, with the active involvement and support of a federal commission that monitors these crimes. The timing of this revelation will make a great stocking stuffer for Hillary.
