Bill Clinton: George H.W. Bush will help President Hillary (On Drudge)

ORANGEBURG, South Carolina (CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America's reputation by the current president — Bush's son, George W. Bush.

"Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again," Clinton said in response to a question from a supporter about what his wife's "number one priority" would be as president.

A spokesman for the George H.W. Bush was not immediately available to comment on whether the former president would chip in some diplomatic help after his son leaves office next year.

Somehow this remark of BC’s just fried me. If the Bushes have any pride as a family, any value as American servants, the senior President will come out and disavow this narcissist’s allegatiions.

Or at least send Bar out to fry BC.

The senior president 41 is a true gentleman and probably won't do that. Unfortunately for us, Bill Clinton was despised after the pardons, and over the years he was rehabbed by Pres. Bush 43.

“He’s treating Clinton better than he is his own flesh and blood.”

Maybe Bill shares his girls when they are on the road. Barbara is not a looker.

He [HW] puts his country above partisanship, because he loves his country more than himself.

Is that why he the driving force behind the NAFTA Treaty? The one that has sent - and continues to send - US jobs to Mexico?

Yup, what a patriot.

I strongly suspect that President George H. W. Bush believes that NAFTA is the best thing for this country. There is an argument that open trade benefits all parties, and it is an argument that it appears GHWB accepts.

He may be wrong, but if he is, I think he is well-intentioned in his error.

Just because BJ Clinton said it doesn’t mean the old man will do it. My guess is he hasn’t even approached 41 with this idea and I seriously doubt 41 will do anything to embarrass 43

Only the Clintons would use Christmas time to try and divide a family. They remain some of the most immature, insecure and self-absorbed people on the planet. They and their faithful retinue truly disgust me.

By the end of 2008 we will have had 20 years of Clinton and Bush. Enough is enough.

I've had enough Clinton/Bush, I want to move on.

While I seriously disagree with many of the domestic policies of both Bushes, and regret the fact that neither sought complete victory in war, it is a fact that they have been too nice to their opponents. Whether it is out of a sense of noblesse oblige or naivete, both father and son have trusted their domestic political opponents to be honorable, and they have not been. Conservative talk radio hosts have been tough on the liberals, but the Bushes have not, even inviting Hollywood leftists and other scoundrels to official functions.

If the GOP holds onto the White House in 2008, I hope the successor will apply the same standards to the enemy within that George W. Bush has to Middle Eastern terror groups.

I nominate this statement for the Tackiest Quote Of the Day award.

Probably because 41 is still sputtering with rage, at least one hopes so. He should come out swinging.

Can’t get that link to cnn working...

Hill Billy Clinton should be meeting with every family member of those who lost their lives on 911 explaining how his neglect led to their deaths.

Former President Bush did what no other person could have ever done for the Clintons gave them the appearance of respectability. Not even Billy Graham gave them respectability even though he did try really hard.

BJ presents a problem for me: I do not know whom to detest more...him or Jimmuh.

It is rather like choosing between Gonorrhea and Syphilis except that both of those are considered curable now. There is no known cure for the damage already done by Carter and Clinton.

He has never said anything of interest, yet he has this rep as a great communicator because he can yammer on and on at the drop of the hat. The perfect role model for self-obsessed bores everywhere.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Bravo, hip hip hooray and all that, a near perfect summation of the phenomenon of Clinton, making clear that the real problem lies in the mushhead electorate who allowed him to be elected twice.
